She just sent back a look that said she didn't undertand why that would be such a big deal.

"Yeah, we're gonna pretend he's sleeping on your floor," she replied in words, "but really he's gonna sleep here with me, and you're not gonna rat us out to Mom and Dad."

Marshall shook his head. "As if I was going to. You don't think they'll figure it out, though?"

Kate shrugged, but lightly, so as not to jostle Bod. "Well, I figure Mom will, but she won't say anything, and Dad'll be too convinced he has some authority to keep that from happening. We should be good."
