Fake sleep. Sounded like a plan. Real sleep would follow eventually. It had to.
And Kate was getting good at keeping quiet. A few tears rolled out of her eyes, onto her cheeks, down to her pillow, but she didn't make a sound.
Just stared ahead and wished for sleep. She'd be doing that for a while.
