Kate's trip to Atlantis had been a nice enough one. She'd decided on getting her mandatory souvenir shopping done early in case the island decided to move again sooner rather than later, and she'd ended up with a few more little trinkets to add to her growing Fandom Island Summer 2011 Multiverse Trip collection.

And now, as she lay sprawled on her narrow bed, she was waiting for Bod to show up to see whether his trip off the island had been as interesting.

The young Mr. Dorian arrived, pizza in hand, wearing long sleeves, jeans and boots just to cover up any bandages he might be sporting. Was he sporting one? Well, he was sure Kate would find out sooner or later.

He gave a knock on the wall outside the alcove and waited.

"Come on in," Kate called out, pushing herself up a bit to a more sitting position to take up less space. There wasn't a whole lot of it in the alcove. "The curtain is unlocked."

Bod pushed the curtain back with an elbow and peeked his head around first, using the curtain to obscure the rest of him.

"You're not with your other boyfriend, are you?" he asked, making a show of looking around the alcove thoroughly.

Kate gave him a curious look. Not for his words, though she had a quip ready for those. "No, he just snuck out right before you showed up."

"Did he?" Bod asked, making a show of looking behind him before frowning at her. He still kept everything but his head masked by her curtain.

"Well, that's disappointing. I would have loved to have a chat with him about things," Bod said, smiling at her. "You're going to have to let us meet each other soon. I bet we could be friends."

"I don't know," Kate replied, making a mock thoughtful face. "He just told me he hates all English people. You'd have to learn to fake another accent. And maybe get a tan. Are you gonna be that close with my curtain all evening?"

"Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to be able to fake another accent or get a tan," Bod said and finally slipped into her room. Of course, he was bundled up so she wouldn't be able to see anything right off just yet.

Well, she'd see the pizza he was carrying in one hand. Said pizza was extended towards her with a smile. "I brought you dinner, dear."

"Thank you, darling," Kate said, gladly reaching out to accept his offering of food, even while looking amused at him. "Wow, you look like you're dressed for winter."

Not really, but he was really seriously all covered up.

"I feel all under dressed."

"Kate, are you asking me to strip already?" he asked, toeing off his shoes and taking a seat on the edge of her bed. He didn't grimace which meant he still wasn't giving anything away.

She chuckled, prying her attention away from him and onto the pizza box she was opening. "Would you like to?"

[therewaslife]

"I think you just want to see and know if I've come back with something more than just a pizza," Bod said, smiling widely at her. "You could just ask."

[vanillajello]

"But where would the fun be in that?" Kate asked, tilting her head at him while picking up a slice of pizza. "'Sides, you're the one that came here all... shrouded in mystery from head to toe. I assumed asking wouldn't get me anything."

Bod laughed and leaned back on his hands, amused at her reasoning. "Does that mean you're not even curious?"

[vanillajello]

"Oh, I'm plenty curious," Kate assured him, nodding. "I'm just playing it cool." She shrugged. "Also, I'm kinda hungry."

[therewaslife]

"Well then, we can just forget that I might have something new," Bod decided, reaching for a piece of pizza himself. "It's not that big a deal, I agree. Nothing troubling at all."

"That's not exactly what I said," Kate replied, then shrugged again. "But I'm trying the patient, stoic way now."

In the face of wanting to pry his clothes off and inspect every inch of his skin. Yeah, it wasn't going to last long.

"That's perfectly fine with me," Bod decided and toasted her with his slice of pizza. "We can both be patient and stoic since we've both proven that we're quite good at that."

Bod suspected she wouldn't be able to hold out too long. He was just waiting for that moment.

"Yes. Exactly."

The fact that she fell quiet after that had less to do with the slice of pizza she was easting and more with the fact that it... kind of took effort not to just ask anything straight away.

She was totally trying to be discrete about eyeing him and making guesses.

Bod could eat his pizza in silence, no problem. He was trying to repress a smile as he did so though so she wouldn't get annoyed. Every so often, he'd flick a glance at her to see what she was doing before his attention went back to his pizza.

Yeah, Kate really sucked at this. She was pretty proud that she managed to keep patient-ish through eating, but as soon as she was done with the slice...?

"Okay tell me."

[therewaslife]

"Tell you what?" Bod asked, playing coy because, well, he could be a tease sometimes too.

Kate rolled her eys and gave his teasing a tolerant smile. "Tell me whether you got a tattoo, and if so, where and what of," she elaborated, then reconsidered. "Actually, I think those last two would be better shown."

[therewaslife]

"Oh, I did," Bod said like it wasn't a big deal at all. He failed to answer the other two questions in lieu of finishing his slice of pizza. He was doing this on purpose, yes.

[vanillajello]

"You are such a tease," Kate laughed, as if that wasn't obvious already. Even if he was being nonchalant, her eyes had gone wider. "Fine, fine, eat your pizza and keep me in suspense, you cruel bastard."

"You've resorted to calling me names!" Bod laughed, shaking his head. "What are you going to do next, strip me of my clothes to find out for yourself?"
