Weeping Angel A4, Friday After Classes

Kate was fighting a losing battle.

Namely, one of trying to stuff all her surprise luggage under her bed. There were just too many. They would never fit. But she just had to try. Not like she wanted them just laying around, when they had labels like Too much responsibility, Pushed around by skeevy guys and Heart bruised by Southern idiot.

And of course, that one fucking luggage set with the label Crazy mother issues.

Eventually though, she just gave up, letting a few of the bags that wouldn't fit just stay in sight. She was just going to flop down on the bed and be thankful that at least she'd been able to push that one black leather bag (which for some reason looked like an old-fashioned doctor's bag, and which had the words That one awful Saturday labelled on it) as far back under the bed as it would go.

Fucking Fandom.

"You have the right to lay there and look good?" Kate offered, snickering. "I have no idea why you'd want anything more."

"All right. I will just lay here and look nice," Bod said, nodding and settling his face into something stoic and calm. No, he didn't know if that made him look good but he was playing along. "How's that?"

"Looks like you're trying too hard," Kate said afer glancing at him. "It doesn't work if you're trying to look nice."

"I'm not trying that hard at all," Bod said, laughing. "I didn't know there were standards of how I can look nice."

Kate pointed a finger at his face when he laughed. "That. That's when you look especially good."

[therewaslife]

"When I laugh?" Bod asked, doing it again because he couldn't help it. "So, it's more acting natural and not acting posed?"

"Exactly," Kate said, nodding. "You look good when you don't know you do."

[therewaslife]

"I've never thought about it either way," he said, laughing and blushing a touch. All right, more than a touch. "I never think I look all right so I've never tried to make myself look any different, if that makes sense."

"I'm not sure it does," she said. "But I get it. Anyway, I think you look good. Obviously."

[therewaslife]

"Thank you," he said, looking shy but sounding sincere. "I think you're rather attractive as well. Obviously. I think I've told you that before, though."

"I think I've told you, too," she remarked, smirking. "But who cares. I like hearing it again. Not like it's going to start boring me or anything."

"You are beautiful," he said because he knew she liked that whether she'd admit it or not. "That's a fact you can't argue with me about."

"I could," she had to point out. "It would just make no sense."

[therewaslife]

"I appreciate the lack of arguing," he said, laughing a bit. "I'd have to then support my argument very thoroughly and you'd lose even more."

"How exactly would you argue for my beauty, though?" Kate wondered. "'Cause isn't that like... in the eye of the beholder or whatever?"

"Yes. Considering I'd be the one arguing it though, I'm fairly certain my opinions would be considered valid sources in this case," Bod decided. "I've been around you enough that I think I can speak quite factually on the subject."

"I don't think it works like that," she said. "But whatever. You think I'm beautiful."

See? She could still concentrate on what was important.

"Even if you did seem to tell me that the first time just because I took my skirt off."

[therewaslife]

"It wasn't just because of that," Bod said, unable to stop a blush from spreading across his face. "I was just...struck by the need to say it right then and there. I'd thought it earlier but I didn't know how it'd be taken."

"So you waited until you were horny and not thinking and just blurted it out," Kate concluded. And maybe, just maybe, she worded it like that just because he was already blushing. "Well, it seemed to work."

[therewaslife]

That blush just got redder and hotter and even got a bit of a squirm out of him. She tended to be quite good at that sort of thing.

"I don't even know what hor--that means," he said though he did have an idea what with the context she was providing. "I was thinking."

Well.

"I was thinking a little," he clarified, stammering a bit now. "It wasn't just because you took your skirt off."

"Horny? As in turned on? Full of lust? Aroused?"

She probably wasn't helping. But then again, she wasn't really trying to, either.

"Okay, so you were thinking a little," she said, shrugging a shoulder. "Enough to form words, at least. Sentences, even."

"If I was thinking a little, I couldn't have been that...aroused." Well, it seemed like the easiest word to say even if he sort of stuttered it and kept on blushing. "If I can still talk, I'm all right."

Really, he was!

"Mmhmm." Kate didn't think so. "Except for how you let stuff just slip out."

[therewaslife]

"I don't." He didn't. Did he? He didn't think so. Calling her beautiful had been in his mind and he just hadn't been able to keep it back then. "If I'm...enjoying myself, I don't let things slip out."

"Okay, maybe you don't," she said, mostly because he'd distracted her with that pause. "God, it's so cute how you can't get the words out."
