A Pink Corner House, Bristol, Saturday Morning

Kate was still in Bristol. Still dealing. She thought she was doing okay, actually. She hadn't forgotten about Wednesday because that was impossible and she had the nightmares to prove it, but... At least some things seemed to be kinda righting themselves now. At least Mitchell was talking to her again. She'd missed that more than she would have cared to admit.

And she'd gotten to go shopping for clothes since she hadn't exactly packed for staying this long. That had been fun, because even after all the trauma lately she was still a slightly shallow girl of seventeen.

She wasn't doing anything quite that productive right now, though. Nope, she had coffee, and was hogging the couch in front of the TV. There was some random show on, where a really tall, really gay Chinese guy was helping a middleaged former biker chick pick out an outfit for the Queen's garden party.

It was random and very British, in Kate's opinion, but she wasn't really watching too intently. It wasn't catching her attention quite like that one show had the other night, the one where the geeky guy suddenly turned out to be smoking hot. Kate thought she'd have to catch up on that once she got back to her computer and could download stuff.

But right now it was just this.

[ooc: NFB, open for phonecalls and messages and people in Bristol! Now I want to watch something with Gok Wan in it too. ...Or that other show mentioned there, mmmm.]

Jack waited until Emma had taken herself shopping before he called. He wasn't worried, exactly, but checking in still seemed like a minimal thing to do.

Ring, ring, ring

[OOC: Weekend SP warning in effect!]

Mitchell wandered into the living room eventually, having checked up on George and Nina upstairs. He came to a stop in the middle of the room, squinting at the TV, a cup of coffee in his own hand. "...Why are we watching Gok Wan?"

So he wasn't completely awake yet.

"Americans," Mitchell muttered, regardless of his own love for really ridiculous TV shows (at least The Real Hustle had a point to it. He was learning!) and stepped back towards the sofa.

He made a sort of backwards flop into it that seemed about half intent and half 'oh, who put that there?'
chosehumanity: (mitchell: comfy onna couch!)

"The Real Hustle is educational television," Mitchell countered, taking a wary sip of his own coffee. "You don't need more fashion advice."

"Hey, hey," Mitchell said in protest, and waved his hand in her general direction. "It teaches you a lot about how to avoid scams!"

And was totally hilarious because you got to see how totally stupid people could be, but still!

"Don't come crying to me if someone leeches off your mobile plan," Mitchell said, ever-so-kindly. He squinted at the television. "Is she...?"

"Oh, that is disturbing," said Mitchell. Apparently he wasn't about to answer her question now.

"The same to you, Miss Gregson," Jack answered. "What are you up to? I'm supposed to be studying."

Which he wasn't, because the words on the page weren't quite making sense, but it would do.

"I just did not need to see that," Mitchell said, with a slight wince.

Then he relaxed into the sofa. "So," he said, conversational and very, very careful, "I was thinking about heading back out to Fandom tomorrow morning."

"You're welcome to stay for as long as you like, I'm not taking that back," he hastened to add, "Or turn up again later, if you want to take a break."

Which would also make Mitchell feel a lot better than if she ran off to some hotel in the middle of nowhere on her own again, so. "But I thought you might want to tag along, like."

"That's settled, then. We'll head home tomorrow morning, I'll head out to the theatre, you can get back to your..." He made a vague gesture. "...Online thing."
chosehumanity: (mitchell: smiling at you)

It wasn't like Mitchell knew all that much about the internet; they didn't have a computer in the house, and he'd never really seen the point of doing too much with it. "Hey, they'll be happy to find out," he said, smiling. "You might even be able to scrounge something out of it."
chosehumanity: (mitchell: pretty please?)

[personal profile] chosehumanity 2010-11-27 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Mitchell blinked at her. "...I thought that was who we were talking about."
