Room 324, Saturday Evening

So, after her randomly awkward visit to the library, it seemed there was to be no party for Kate today. Well, not unless you counted it a party that she was wearing her new dress while music played on in the background. Kate didn't. The dress was because for just a moment, she'd considered going into town after all, before she'd realized that would've either meant going to the Devil's Nest and not being able to drink, or going to Caritas and having to face Caroline.

The music was just because.

She was slumped on her bed, playing a game on her phone and wondering whether she should dig out the liquor bottle she knew she had stashed in the depths of her closet. It called for consideration.

Thinking hard on just how pathetic that would make her look, mostly.

[ooc: Mostly 'stablishy, but can be open since I'm probably not gonna go to bed for a couple more hours like an insane person! The door is cracked open.]

Luke didn't feel like going outside when it was cold and he didn't feel like hanging out in his room either, so he went down the hall to see if anybody else was as bored as he was.

Since Kate's door was one of the few that wasn't closed he tapped on the door frame lightly to see if she was around.

Well that didn't sound very enthusiastic but Luke pushed open the door anyway. "Hey. You busy?"

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh cool, I was doing that too, but I decided I didn't want to do it alone," Luke said, stepping in the room. "It'll be much more effective if we combined our powers."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well if you're gonna do something you might as well do it right," he said. "You're better dressed for the occasion than I am, though. Were you doing some classy angsting?"

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
"You're a better person than me. I would have taken the fight." Not that Luke couldn't have knocked on the door across the hall and started a fight with Percy. "So what are we angsting over?"

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Awkward's not too bad, right? It's fixable," Luke said optimistically, sitting down on the edge of Kate's bed. "At least he doesn't want you dead. There's a bright side."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Luke smirked. "At least you're admitting it's a bit melodramatic. I would have hated having to point that out myself. You might've gotten violent."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"You're just angsting now for practice, huh?" Luke teased. "You want some of my drama? I've got some to spare."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Now vampires I don't actually have too much experience with, so you're ahead of me in that supernatural area," he said. "I do have some empousai working for me, though. They suck the blood of men after hooking up with them."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah I'm keeping away from them 'cause of that reason." And not because of Percy at all. Riiiiiiight. "Not my business what they do on their off hours but I'd rather not be one of their victims."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Luke laughed a little. "If you're looking to have a normal conversation about normal things I don't know if I'm the best person to be providing that at the moment. I'm like knee deep in monsters and demigods and quests for magical items."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Luke rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah. You ever hear the story about Jason and the Golden Fleece?"

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"The argonauts are the group of guys Jason got to help him get the fleece. It's always a real bitch to get. The trip's dangerous and it's always guarded by some jerk these days," Luke explained. "Anyway, they say the fleece can heal anything and it's important that I get it."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah, anybody going for it will probably end up dead." Which was why he wasn't planning on getting it himself. "You'd have a cool story to tell if you do manage to get it though."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Someone else is gonna try first, yeah. But if they die then I'll go get it myself," he said with a shrug. "I am sort of blasé about death. Have to be. Most demigods don't make it to adulthood."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Luke smirked at hearing it worded that way. "That probably makes you a smarter person than I am."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't know, I've seen plenty of borderline normal, sheltered mortals do some pretty dumb things," Luke said. "You obviously have some special talent beyond that."

[identity profile] trickydemigod.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"I would have been surprised if some of it didn't rub off on you after all this time," Luke said, chuckling. "You can still brag that you're smarter than the average Fandomite, though."
