Yesterday, Charmaine and Neil had gotten married in a tiny municipal wedding ceremony that had somehow been better for everyone than Charmaine's previous attempt at a marriage. And early today, the newly wedded couple, along with their infant daughter, had taken off for Houston to go househunting. And Kate was already feeling weird that it was really just her and Marshall and Bod around, now.

So it was a good thing this was the day she'd invited people to come visit. Some booze had been acquired, and Marshall had busied himself in the kitchen making snacks, and they were all set. It was going to be weird since Kate had invited a bunch of people who'd never been to Kansas before, but she was hoping it would be a fun kind of weird.

Jack sidled over to Nobody, looking a bit chagrined. "Was the last time I spoke to you the time in the graveyard with the, er, leather pants?"

It was months and months ago, but he still figured he owed an apology.

"I believe it was, yes," Bod said, nodding. "Hullo again, Jack. It's been awhile."

"I don't get to the island often," Jack said, by way of explanation. "I was there for a few weeks in December, but that wasn't exactly the most social time for any of us. Anyhow, it's good to see you again now that I'm in my right mind."

"And you as well," Bod said, nodding. "How have you been lately, Jack?"

Jack's lips quirked. "It's been an interesting year so far," he said carefully. "I think I'm mostly back to normal, or close as I'll get. And you?"

"Lately, I've been spending most of my time here," Bod remarked, looking around. "I've been helping Kate with everything since her parents are away for awhile."

"Good of you," Jack noted. "Are you coming out here to stay after graduation, or is that up in the air?"

"That's up in the air at this point," Bod said, nodding. "I'm sure I'll come back for a bit but I do want to travel as well. So, I think it'll be a matter of prioritizing before doing anything."
