From the School to the Arms Hotel, Sunday Evening

One moment, Kate was standing in the school with a knife in her hand, practically wishing the last few Loyalists would come at her so she could hurt some more people, like that'd help her.

The next, the knife was gone and it was a very different Kate standing in that exact same spot.

And then she was off and running, scrambling her way out of the school and out the gates and making some kind of a personal record with the way she ran through town to the hotel. They'd had a hotel room, see, her and Bod, before this whole thing had started. And he had to be there. He had to be there.

She ended up repeatedly slamming her fist against the hotel room door once she got there. "Bod? Bod!"

Bod sat down on the bed, hands in his lap and watched while she looked through her bag. "I'm sure you have something comfortable in there. Something for lounging and relaxing that's still fashionable."

Kate snorted, and even smiled s little.

"Probably," she said, glancing over. "Although the comfortable bit is gonna be the most important thing right now."

"If you don't find anything that satisfies you, I'm sure I can let you borrow a few of my clothes as well," Bod told her, nodding. "I know how you like them."

Kate responded to that by pulling a t-shirt out of her bag.

It was one of his.

"Way ahead of you, boyfriend."

Chuckling, Bod leaned back on his hands and gave her another smile. "Did you want a pair of shorts as well or just the shirt for now?"

"I think I've got a pair of shorts of my own," Kate said, and managed to pull a pair out of her bag a moment later. "This'll totally make for a stylish but comfy outfit, right?"

"I think so," Bod said before standing up when he heard a knock at the door. He did wait for Kate to change before leaving though. "And considering I'll be the only one to see you, I wouldn't care if it wasn't stylish anyway."

Kate was quick to get changed. They were uncomplicated clothes, and all. Soon enough, she was clad in shorts and his shirt.

"You wouldn't know if it wasn't," she teased.

"You're right, I wouldn't," Bod laughed, gesturing her towards the front room so they could get the food and relax a little further with each other.

She followed easily, tugging on the hem of her shirt. Something that could be seen as pajamas was almost novel right now, after a week of wearing practically the same clothes all the time.

"That's why you have me."

"Indeed," Bod said, making his way to the front door to take the food and tip the man at the door. He closed the door and turned back to her. "Still hungry?"

"Peckish," Kate said, padding over to peer at the food. Her stomach rumbled. "Okay, right, let's make that a yes, I'm hungry."

Bod settled the food down on the table and motioned to it. "It's all yours, Kate. Take what you'd like. I ordered both a meal, a fruit and a sweet."

Kate reached for a sandwich. "Thank you. You are the greatest, and after this week, this basically looks like a gourmet meal."

[therewaslife]

"I'm glad to help," Bod said, reaching over and kissing her forehead. "Whatever you need."

[vanillajello]

"Everything," she replied, and wasn't sure whether she was joking or not. "I need everything from you."

[therewaslife]

"Everything?" Bod asked, chuckling. "That might take a little while to accomplish but I promise, I will give you everything I can."

[vanillajello]

"Everything," Kate replied, nodding solemnly. Over her sandwich. "Because you're my English Muffin."

And she loved him with all her poor heart.

"And you're my Cuddle Bunny and I'll give you everything," Bod promised. "Let's start with you finishing your dinner and then us resting. Everything else can wait till after."

"Sounds awesome," Kate said, nodding again. Not even pretending to be serious, this time. "Food, rest. I'm down with that."

She was so going to be sprawling all over him, listening to his heartbeat once she was trying to sleep.

"As am I," Bod said, reaching for his sandwich. "And tomorrow we'll go back to Kansas and you can continue to eat and rest and be around me."

"Excellent. And, there'll be Moosh's cooking, too." That was a definite plus. And she was going to need to give her brother a massive hug, too. "I'm happy."

Tired and shaken, but happy now that she was here.

"Good," he said and gave her a quick kiss. With that said, he took her hand and led her back to the bedroom so they could relax and rest.

That was all they had to do for the rest of the day. It was what she needed and it was what he'd give her.
