One moment, Kate was standing in the school with a knife in her hand, practically wishing the last few Loyalists would come at her so she could hurt some more people, like that'd help her.

The next, the knife was gone and it was a very different Kate standing in that exact same spot.

And then she was off and running, scrambling her way out of the school and out the gates and making some kind of a personal record with the way she ran through town to the hotel. They'd had a hotel room, see, her and Bod, before this whole thing had started. And he had to be there. He had to be there.

She ended up repeatedly slamming her fist against the hotel room door once she got there. "Bod? Bod!"

Dorian Owens was a pretty resourceful and brave little boy. So, when he couldn't locate his parents at the big building he'd found them last time, and he heard someone mention an awful lot of people would be at the hotel this morning, he set on his way across town

Lots of bright persuasive smiles, a rickshaw ride, and a helpful hotel employee later he found himself at a door behind which he was supposed to find his parents. So, he knocked. Enthusiastically.

Inside the room, in bed, it made Kate frown lightly. "Did you order room service breakfast or something?" she mumbled, still half asleep.

Maybe making a hasty exit from the mixer at the community center hadn't been the greatest idea, but Kate had felt it had been the only choice. Yes, she could have gone and found Bod and gotten the truth about the situation, but under the circumstances, it had seemed like either way she would have lost.

If it would've turned out Silas had been lying, like she was so adamant to convince herself he had, her going over to embarrass herself in front of Bod would've only given the man the satisfaction of seeing he'd gotten to her with his cruel little stunt.

And if it would've turned out Silas had been telling the truth... Well.

It had taken Zach a good couple of hours just to get Kate to calm down. )

It had been a long day, and Kate and Lynda hadn't really felt like going into town for the evening. Instead, they'd retreated back to Lynda's hotel room to relax and talk about business. And maybe to smooke a little bit of something or other.

But that had been earlier. Right now? The Princess Valhalla Hawkwind song was playing in the background, and Kate was striking poses in full costume so Lynda could do some quick sketches, just for fun.

They'd left the door cracked open, in case someone wanted to join their little art party. Or come complain about what little noise they were making with the music (soft and fairly quiet as it was) and laughing. Either or.

[ooc: Open post, in case anyone wants to be subjected to the sight of Kate's PVH costume, or something.]
