Good morning, dear listeners! It is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here to bring you all the news the squirrels saw fit to scribble down this week. Based on the last few weeks and the few sticky notes I see before me, I shan't lie to you, I haven't much hope, but it's perhaps all for the best as I've the picnic to be getting to. Let's see...we shall once again be reporting solely from the town, where Miss Skywalker meditated at her warehouse and at the Devil's Nest, Mr. Morningstar reminisced upon radio broadcasts past and Miss Blake wished to know why. Why not, I say. Until next week, dear listeners! I shall see you at the picnic!

Maybe it was climate change, maybe someone had wished a little too hard for warm weather, but it was very toasty this morning. Luckily, the moddable food and drinks had already been prepared for a summer theme with icy beverages, fruit plates, and loads of ice cream among the mix, and pop-up tents around the school lawn were providing some shade. At least you didn't have to ring in the summer term in the rain?

[Happy summer term, everyone! Going OCD-free because I don't trust the gateways to stay good.]

"Ah, that was a good one!"

"Mm. That zinger was perfect."

"Excuse me, the drama was entirely warranted."

It was mostly quiet at the Devil's Nest. Except every five minutes or so, a comment would escape Lucifer's lips and drift into the bar, making Tiny look up again and frown.

Eventually, Lucifer looked up at him from his booth. "Oh, what are you staring at?" he said. "Like you never listen to old radio broadcasts for a trip down memory lane. Why else do they exist?"

The Devil's Nest was open. And nostalgic.

It was back to normal after a few weeks, so Rey was back in the warehouse, and it was definitely a meditation day. The last few weeks had been great, but they'd also left her with a lot of things to think about. Things she strived avoiding thinking about but it was getting harder and harder not to.

If the woodchucks were here, they were keeping quietly to themselves for once, so Rey could just focus on her breathing, and not what that noise was or whatever.

Well, I apologize, Leroy. I was off-island fighting a small invasion and I didn't make it back in time for radio last week. The good news is that giant radioactive weasels aren't inbound.

*chittering*

No, I don't think they were interested in dating squirrels.

*chittering*

Even those with steady work. Sorry. Can I have the notes, please?

*chittering*

Note. I apologize. Steven was very glad of the Watts-shaped distraction from odd sales calls at the museum.

See you all at the picnic!

The tags tell me this is the 60th time we've asked for broadcasters, so thanks for nothing, tags

We need seven men/women/talking cats/intern porgs with a translator to join us for the Spring to deliver us the linkdrops from the previous day! Bonus points are given for style, substance, and starting weird fake wars with imaginary wildlife.

Please sign up below either as a regular broadcaster or a backup (and let me know if you can continue with the trend of self-squirreling)! If you are a returning radio person, let me know if your current day works or if you'd prefer a new one. The new schedule will begin this coming Sunday, May 17th!

I see, it's another one post-it note day.

In this case it means it was quiet at the School and in the Dorms while in Town, Octavia was ignoring 'Big Beer' at the Devil's Nest, but given this was written b a squirrel that could mean anything.

Their tour had started off with a couple of shows not far from home. It'd been a warm-up; they'd all felt it as a warm-up, even if the venues were bigger and the crowds had grown. But then they'd gotten on a plane, Jill and Dane practically vibrating while Trent and Tab played their best at casual. And nothing had felt quite the same since they'd landed in Belgium.

It wasn't that it mattered much to Jack. A couple thousand miles was nothing - it was practically their backyard. But it was hard not to get infected by his bandmates' sense that something big was happening. Something new. So when Jill had knocked on their hotel room door to do some more vibrating about their very first European festival show, Jack had gotten out.

Onto the street, but not much further. Honestly, he probably looked like some kind of brooding teen having a midlife crisis, leaning against the hotel's crumbling brick wall in his worn-down brown leather jacket and his Worm t-shirt, staring up at the stars. But whatever. If anyone was out this late, it was their problem.

So far, everything was working out just fine. This was probably the safest any of them had felt on tour - between their stern new tour manager and Lana, everything felt like it was being handled with military precision. They arrived on time, with exactly the right amount of merch, their instruments pristine and food in their bellies.

He wouldn't have expected anything less.

And yet he was still here, restless in a whole new way. It wasn't the new territory, not really. Maybe it was the threat of the old territory at the very end of it - three nights in Toronto. Maybe it was the increasingly-familiar night sky, the knowledge that last year he'd still wedged time at Fandom into this and now he was again, somehow, letting a part of Atton Rand slip away so he could fit better in this skin.

Maybe it was the fact he hadn't had a haircut in six months and his hair was starting to itch the back of his neck.

Who knew? Either way, here he was, staring up at the sky, regretting the fact he'd given up smoking a couple of years ago.

Steven was once again fielding a sales call.

"No, no thank you," he said. "We're a museum, you see. Not set up for horses. "There's a stables at the school if you're interested? I could get you their number if you'd like to ring them? Here the best I could give you is photos of when the residents turn into ponies."

Steven frowned. "What? As in - well I certainly don't judge if that's the case for others but it's rather inappropriate for you to ask me if I care for such a thing. Er - right. Yes. I think that'll be all. Good luck?"

Steven hung up and resolved not to think about that too much further. Luckily there was plenty else to do while he sat at the Welcome Desk, ever ready to help anyone who might need it.

You were where? I've never heard of Dollywood.

Right. The squirrels went to a theme park yesterday it seems. That may explain the lack of notes here or perhaps everyone is off enjoying some quiet time away from squirrelly eyes. Or there have been some massive rum bribes.

So, the note was from the town where Kitty was at Caritas where Tino inexplicably was using a computer at the bar.

*chittering*

No I didn't know he did either. That's all for yesterday. Enjoy your today?

There was a jug of beer on the bar when Octavia came into work tonight.

A jug. Of beer.

A big one, with a lot of beer.

And Tiny was just shrugging his big shoulders about it.

Octavia was just going to... leave that section of the bar alone, for now. Maybe an explanation would make itself known.

Y'all are so lucky that everyone just thinks this is another Dollywood attraction, just soooo lucky. This is one note! Just one note! Why would you even come this whole way for just one--

*chittering*

--Because you wanna go to Dollywood? *long pause* I hate that I can't argue with that. Fine. Give me the note and lets get this over with.

Hey there, island. It's me, ya girl, Arden Finch, pulled out of line for the roller coaster to read this one (1) singular note to you all.

Yesterday at the Infinite Consortium, Professor Vess fed her ambush chair a haunted dollhouse.

*another long pause*

That sentence was a roller coaster ride from start to finish and, if you'll excuse me, that's exactly what I'd like to get back to. My very literal roller coaster ride.

Bye, island! And in honor of my trip, enjoy some Dolly with your day, Jolene

It wasn't that uncommon to see Kitty at the bar with her laptop. There were orders to be placed, paperwork to complete, etc, so why not take advantage of a slow night to take it easy tomorrow?

It was however, very rare to see Tino with one. So rare that she'd never seen it before. She hadn't known he knew how to use a computer. Out of curiosity, she kept trying to sneak behind him to see what he was doing, though he'd usually either turn it away from her as she passed or close it altogether.

Mysterious. She didn't like it.

Good morning, everyone! This is Kitty here with a very short stack of notes, I assume because the squirrels were off having family time. I also assume separately. I don't think they're related?

So in town, Rey was stuck dealing with flowers all over the place at Stark's.

Aaand by a small stack I mean one page. All right, enjoy your Monday.

Sairis had left a crate unopened and from all the thumping coming from the inside, she could guess why. Still she was nosy ever-curious and couldn't help but take a peek to see what was trapped within.

The answer turned out to be a dollhouse with creepy little ragdolls within. The dolls also had what looked like switchblades bound to their little arms.

"I see," Liliana said. She picked up the dollhouse and walked into the front room with it, heading towards the display window. Rather than the window, however, when she did set the dollhouse down, it was on the ambush chair's cushion. "Bon appetit," she said, patting the back of the chair and continuing on towards the counter.

The sound of very tiny screams followed her, but you didn't earn the epithet 'Death's Majesty' without getting very good at ignoring screams anyway.

Mother's Day was an awkward day for an orphan who could only remember one meeting with her parents, so today always left Rey with Feelings.

Not today, though. Today was all annoyance because everything was flowers. Tools? Flowers. Open a drawer? Flowers. And sure it looked beautiful and it smelled really nice in here but she had stuff to do!

Good morning, everyone, I've--one note.

*chittering*

The squirrels insist it is two. Really, if you just did your jobs-- It is from the town, where at the Trooper Station, Detective Watts found a raccoon and had luncheon with Mr. Grant. And that is all the squirrels bothered to report yesterday. I'm sure nothing happened at the school, as the break continues, and the dorms and rest of the town must remain a mystery.

Until next week, dear listeners, farewell!

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! It's time to sign up for your Second Session Summer 2026 Workshops! These sign-ups are open to EVERYONE: students, teachers, and townies. Please read the following before you start signing up:

1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while I put up the OCD!

2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.

The Important Stuff About Signing Up For Classes

1) Since we've removed the cap on characters, we have also removed the cap on the number of classes your characters can sign up for, but please consider your RL ability to keep up before chucking a character at every class we're offering.

2) If you're a TA for a class, you need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2. (Not you, recent grads.) Please note TA-ship in the sign-up for easy of making the class lists accurate. Teachers: please refrain from having your own character act as the TA as it defeats the purpose of having a back-up player to post for you!

3) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap.

4) If you sign up, please, please try to show up. It lets the mods judge if you're still in the game and it makes the work the teachers are putting into coming up with something fun to interact with so worth it.

5) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.

6) To be fair to people in all time-zones, sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve.

And now we get to what you really want to see: Summer Workshops! (Session 1)!!!!

FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on Friday, May 15, 2026, and are IG knowledge at the picnic.

General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. Questions or difficulties, please email us - fandomhighadmins (@) iambicnut.com - or drop a question in the Questions thread down below.

PLEASE HOLD WHILE I OCD.

There was a raccoon asleep in one of the cells. No, it hadn't been arrested or charged with anything, it had apparently just wandered in last night and fallen asleep. As you do.

Watts wasn't going to be the one to try to wake it up. It wasn't as if they actually needed the cells for anything, after all.
