Last weekend had been kind of rough, yeah. And so had this past week, because it was like there'd been something in the air, making every person flying SkyKans a total pain in the ass. But, Kate had the day off today. And yes, she was totally intending to do useful crap at some point. Like... groceries. Or cleaning. Or... Something. She hadn't decided yet.

Because slouching on the couch with her laptop and dicking around on the internet and watching a million YouTube videos was the best use of her time right now. You couldn't go wrong with cats doing funny things, or people falling down a lot. Or, apparently, stop-motion animation with foul-mouthed Barbies.

Also:

"... Oh my fucking God, these dolls totally live in Overland Park. Oh my God."

Well, she'd just become a fan.

Kate chuckled quietly near his ear. "I don't think that's really something you need to explain to most people. They'll get it."

"Someone might ask me about it and then what would I say?" Bod wondered. "I wouldn't want to lie to them."

"So, don't," she replied, and licked at his earlobe. "Just say your girlfriend got a little playful."

He laughed again. "She got a little playful because she didn't want me to clean? I'm sure they've heard that before."

"Doesn't matter," she murmured. "It's none of their business in the first place, anyway."

"And does that stop everyone from asking?" Bod wondered. "I bet you would ask if you saw someone with bite marks on their neck."

"Uh, no I wouldn't," Kate replied. "Come on. I can recognize bitemarks when I see them, why would I ask? I mean, unless they were unfamiliar bitemarks on you."

"See, you would ask me if I had bite marks on my neck!" Bod asked, taking her words and twisting them just a bit to make himself right. He thought she'd be proud of him for that.

Kate laughed and shook her head. "You," she said, nuzzling the back of his neck, which wouldn't leave a mark, "are not just someone. It's a different thing."

"But, you would still ask me so that makes me right," Bod declared happily.

"Fuck you," Kate replied succinctly.

She was great at losing arguments. But, she was also tugging the hem of his shirt upwards a bit so she could brush her hand against his stomach. Since she had her arms around him and all.

Bod chuckled and glanced down at her handiwork. "Mmm. What are you doing now? Going to leave bite marks elsewhere?"

For that, he got nails against his skin.

"Don't know. Would you like me to?"

"I think I'd like it to be your choice since it's your hands and all," Bod said, sighing just a bit. "I'm easy about things."

"That is such a predictable answer," she told him quietly while her nails dragged over his stomach, pressing harder down a few times. "My English Muffin."

[therewaslife]

"Well, I am sometimes predictable," he said with a quiet laugh. "But, even if it's predictable, it's the truth."

"You're predictable a lot." But so was Kate. She stepped back, but got a few fingers around the waist of his pants, and gave it a little tug. "Come."

"But, I'm not done cleaning yet," he said, only protesting just to be a pain. He was already moving backwards at the tug.

"You know what?" Kate replied, tugging a little harder as she backed her way out of the bathroom. "I don't care."

[therewaslife]

"Where are you taking me?" he laughed, tossing his cleaning supplies onto the bathroom floor, at least. "The poor bathroom."

"Not far." Just, you know, the bedroom. "The bathroom can deal without you for a while."

Bod continued to laugh as she tugged him along. "And here I was, trying to be productive today."

"Yeah, shame," Kate drawled, pulling him into the bedroom after her. "Should've waited until I went somewhere."

[therewaslife]

"Perhaps later," he said, still smiling. "What are you planning to do with me now? All this tugging and all."

[vanillajello]

"Stuff," Kate said, lightly. She stopped, then immediately moved to pull his shirt off. He needed to be shirtless. "Things."
