Room 324, Saturday Afternoon
After the thing with Ben at the mall on Monday, Kate had done the rest of her shopping in a daze, kind of disoriented. She'd even bought a green top. She never really wore green, but she was wearing it now, paired with black skinnyjeans. She'd bought it; might as well wear it.
Somewhere in the back of her mind it was a symbol for that weird feeling of victory she'd felt at seeing Benjamin walk away.
After Monday, the rest of the week had been pretty mellow. Board games, food, hanging out, bad holiday movies, sharing a bottle of peppermint schnapps with her brother. Vegging out in front of the Xbox. Getting presents. Eating some more. Being... happy, really. And kinda surprised by it.
Of course, Alice had shown up and had a few concerns to voice about the way Kate was living in Fandom, but even that had been kind of okay. Eventually. It was a part of Kate's life.
But it was enough to remind her why she was living in Fandom now, and she was glad to be back.
She was nearly finished with her unpacking. Some of her things still had glitter on them, but she was fine with that. It was just a little bit of glitter. The door was half-open, and the music would probably inform people she had returned a day early.

It was holiday season. She could allow herself a little bounciness. "Anything interesting happen while I was gone?"

His arms still around her, he continued: "So, I assume you got lots of gifts."
Yes, he had understood that this was the important part about Christmas.

When had she ever resisted anything that had to do with Leto and a bed?

Reaching the bed he let them both fall on to it.

A lone skirt was still on the bed, left over from operation unpacking. Kate pushed it over the edge on to the floor, then reached to kiss him, grinning.

She was going to get around to informing Leto of this, but right now she was preoccupied with kissing him in non-embarrassing ways, with her palm pressed against the side of his neck and her fingers slipping into his hair.
[Sleep well!]

That certainty translated into deepening the kiss. This particular discussion was over.
