Room 324, Sunday Afternoon
For the first time since moving to the island a little over a year ago, Kate actually felt a little hesitant about coming back to Fandom. Just the faintest desire to stay home in Kansas. There was stuff there that made it seem like it'd be worth it. Her mother was better, her aunt's engagement glee was vaguely amusing, and her brother's thing with the random chick was intriguing to stay the least.
Whereas in Fandom... Well, there was a lot to be wary about. People to worry for. Not really her scene; didn't used to think so, at least. Still adjusting to how things were now.
She'd come back, though. And right now, unpacking made for a great distraction.

She cut that thought short. Whole different pile of issues, right there. "Anyway. I never used to feel like that before. I mean, Mom was Mom, and I never thought I'd start worrying about splitting."

"You worry about that?" he finally asked when she didn't clarify or take it back.

Still, she was glad he couldn't see her face right now. "Not as much as I did around this time last year."

So, he just held her and...didn't know what to else. He was a failure with words today.

"I'm probably too old for that to happen, anyway," she said, after letting the silence linger for a while.

One topic didn't really have anything to do with the other but he wanted her to know anyway.

Bod figured the real answer was that they each knew him really well in different ways but saying that wasn't a complete lie at all.

And she doubted she knew everything he knew. Just made sense.

He still didn't like knowing what had been done to Scarlett. He knew it had to be done but he didn't like it and feared it happening again to people he was really close with.

Such an awesome roommate she was.

Yes, she sounded like she thought he was being a silly boy by asking.

He was going to end up asleep against her back sooner rather than later.

After all the stress he'd built up, he fell asleep rather quickly. It was probably for the best. Hopefully, he'd wake up in a better mood.
