Crowne Plaza Hotel, Williamsburg, VA, Late Saturday Morning

There were no weird blocks hanging in the air here, no weird creatures running around, and no tails or ears appearing on anyone. The oddest thing was probably the teddy bear (Lennox Fitzherbert IV, as it'd by now been named) sitting on one of the bedside tables. So, all in all, it was a pretty damn normal hotel room. And that was the best thing for it to be, right now.

There was more exploring to do and adventures to have today, but not quite yet. It was still morning, and Kate was still pretty soundly asleep, curled up on her side, dreaming things that she wouldn't remember later on and that were already starting to slowly fade away.

Kate snorted. "It's supposed to be," she said. "Where's the fun in just telling you?"

Actually, there was plenty fun in that, too.

"Well, you haven't told me so I don't know where the fun is in that so I can't accurately answer the question," he pointed out.

"Yeah but you have previous experience you could use to guess at stuff," she retorted lazily. "Although this is one of those things where you never seemed to get the hang of my way of looking at things."

"It's been a long time," Bod reminded her, snickering. "How was I to know you continued that while we weren't around each other?"

"Well, to be honest, I did cut back on the daydreaming," she admitted with a shrug. "'Cause I was busy pretending I didn't want to or something, but that's back on now."

Laughing again, Bod said, "When did it become back on?"

[vanillajello]

"... I'm no sure, exactly," Kate admitted after pausing briefly to actually think about it. "Recently? When you said you still feel stuff for me."

Bod smiled and rolled onto his back. "So, you almost took it as permission of a sort?"

Kate couldn't help laughing a little, almost shy, or embarrassed, or one of those other feelings she wasn't exactly used to.

"I guess so."

"And yet you still won't share the contents with me?" he asked, snickering.

[vanillajello]

"You didn't ask nicely."

Or something.

"Didn't I?" Bod couldn't actually remember. "I have to ask nicely?"

"Yes," she decided, nodding. "You're not the only one who can make up random rules."

"Can I please know the contents of your daydreams?" Bod asked, going for as nice as he could.

"Well," Kate started, moving so she could prop her head up on one arm and pretend she wasn't quite as lazy as she was. "There was this one that starts in class..."

"Yes?" Bod prompted, rolling onto his side again so he could see her.

"Well, it's starts out terribly mundanely," she explained, lazily tugging her blankets a little higher. "Just... pretending to listen to the lecture or whatever, but we keep looking at each other. Like, there's lingering glances. You can't keep your eyes off me, like maybe I have an excellent hair day or fabulous cleavage or something."

"Both of which you have quite often," he agreed with a laugh. "So far, I could definitely see it happening in something other than a daydream."

"Right? And passing notes is pretty normal too," Kate continued, nodding. "Except I totally start to suggest ditching class."

"To go do homework elsewhere?" Yes, he knew that wouldn't be the reason unless Kate lost her mind.

Cute. Kate snorted and rolled her eyes. "Yes, exactly, Bod," she drawled. "I daydream about homework. Imagining a nice, long, hot session of presentation research really gets me going."

"Feel free to correct me," Bod offered with a little laugh. "I have a feeling I was wrong."

"You were very wrong." Surprising no one. "I wouldn't quote my favorite Nine Inch Nails song in my notes if I wanted to cut class to go do homework."

"I am almost afraid to ask what your favorite Nine Inch Nails song is," Bod said, licking his lips quickly.

"Closer," Kate replied, smirking. That lick hadn't gone unnoticed, no. "I mean, a lot of the lines don't really work, coming from me, or they're just otherwise wrong for the situation. But there are a few that'd make good notes."
