Somewhere in Maryland, Friday Evening

So, Kate and Bod had decided to get the hell off the island and away from the constant rain of future Japan. They'd packed some stuff, rented a car, and off they'd gone.

They were... somewhere in Maryland, now. Kate wasn't exactly sure where, and didn't particularly care, though maybe she should have, since she was currently driving and all. Maybe they'd know where they were going once they saw it.

She glanced over at Bod. "Can you try and find something good on the radio?" She was still too much of an old lady driver to start fiddling with the car stereo while they were in motion.

"I want to be wherever you are," Kate told him, and snagged another kiss. "But maybe the tent? We have all night to get back in the water if we feel like it."

"Tent, then," he said, keeping his arms around her while he backed them slowly out of the water. "We have all night. And I haven't gone night swimming in quite awhile."

"I'm not sure I ever have," Kate replied, catching a kiss or two while walking since he was still holding her close. "That's a good plan for later. But right now, I think nesting in the tent could be good."

"I think nesting in the tent could be amazing," Bod agreed, walking them out of the ocean until he felt sand and could see their swimsuits nearby. "Should we get dressed again?"

"I think that depends on your willingness to take a chance with streaking back to the tent versus your willingness to get dressed only to strip again not too long after," Kate told him. "'Cause I think I'm gonna insist nesting involve naked cuddling."

[therewaslife]

Bod laughed and looked down at their swimsuits. "What do you think? Do you want to get dressed or should we streak?"

"We're probably never coming here again," Kate replied. "Or, at least, whoever we might see on the way isn't someone we'll be meeting again..."

There was an answer in there somewhere.

Bod laughed and let go of Kate so he could reach down and gather up their clothes. "Then, we should probably go before I change my mind. I'm willing to stay like this for the moment."

"Well, come on then," Kate said, already starting off back towards where their tent was, grinning at him over her shoulder. "We're not even far from the tent."

Bod spared a glance around before following behind her and trying not to let a blush completely overtake his body. It was a challenge.

And Kate would've laughed at him for that, only she found herself losing her nerve rather sooner than she would've expected, even though there was no one else around.

It wasn't long before she was picking up speed into a half run.

Yes, Bod found that he didn't want to take too long either so when she started jogging, he started jogging and really hoped that they got back to the tent sooner rather than later. Naked cuddling would be a lot more fun than streaking.

A lot more fun, Kate agreed. Luckily, the tent wasn't too far at all, not when they were jogging as they were.

Once Kate got to it, she all but fell in the doorway, into a laughing heap on the tent floor.

Bod dropped their swimsuits outside the tent before he followed inside. He zipped up the flap and fell backwards onto one of their sleeping bags, laughing.

Kate rolled on to her side, facing him, and still snickering.

"Well, that was... fun."

[therewaslife]

"Yes, it was," he said, laughing and catching his breath again. "I think I prefer it in here but it was fun. Something I've never done before."

[vanillajello]

"Me neither," she admitted. "Clearly we inspire each other to try new things."

[therewaslife]

"We do," he laughed, settling down and sighing. "I think we should do that cuddling thing now. It's a fun activity too."

[vanillajello]

"It is," she agreed, immediately scooting closer so she could try and drape an arm and a leg over him. "You're warm."

[therewaslife]

"So are you," Bod said, smiling and closing his eyes. "And soft. You're warm and soft."

[vanillajello]

"Like a girl ought to be," Kate joked in a murmur. "With my boobs squished against you and everything."

[therewaslife]

"Yes, with your -- " Bod trailed off and laughed. "Yes, that. That's how it's supposed to be."

"Mm." She pressed a soft kiss on his shoulder, amused. "Boobs. The word is boobs."

"I know what they are," Bod laughed, shaking his head. "They're sexy too."

[vanillajello]

"I was just about to make that very point," Kate informed him with a snicker. "Yes, they are."
