Room 324, Sunday Afternoon

After some time spent in the crazy pony-filled common room, Kate retreated back into her own quarters to hang out. Apart from putting her ring on, she hadn't gotten any further dressed than she had been for breakfast. The shorts and flannel shirt combo was comfortable, and considering there were ponies running around, people could just deal with her legs if they happened to wander on by.

Wasn't like the ponies were wearing any clothes. She was trying not to think about that.

And she was pretty successful in that endeavor. After all, most of her focus was going into looking at stuff on her laptop. Namely, trying to find out what people were paying for barely used Vespas, and looking at holiday destinations where you might find a place to hang a hammock.

No reason, really.

"I don't think the magic word works here," Kate lamented, not at all sadly. "Not that kind of thing."

"I love you," he said and kissed her cheek again. "If it were me with the secret, I would tell you."

That...was debatable.

"I doubt that," Kate murmured, turning her head to kiss him. "Not without a lot of work from me."

[therewaslife]

"Mmm. Perhaps." Yes, he could admit that. He lingered into that kiss again, forgetting about that secret of hers for the moment. "But you know you would have eventually gotten it out of me."

"Eventually," she agreed. "But not just by asking."

And neither would he.

"I'm not sure what else I have to do," he admitted and laughed again. "It's not often I'm trying to wrangle secrets out of someone. What should I do?"

"Be relentless and persuasive and... stuff." Yeah, she didn't know. She reached for the edge of the desk to push herself up from the chair. "I don't know."

"I'm not either of those," he said, stepping back and stretching since he'd been leaning down for awhile. "So, I suppose...I'll just have to live with you having a secret that involves me."

[vanillajello]

"And potentially hammocks," Kate replied as she got up and stretched her arms way above her head. Clearly, she had problems with not dropping hints all over the place. "You and hammocks."

[therewaslife]

"Hammocks?" Bod repeated, half smiling now. "Hammocks are...fun."

And he wanted to ask more but he forced himself not to do that.

"Your secret sounds like quite the good one. I'll look forward to hearing more."

[vanillajello]

"Of course it does," she informed him, stepping closer to lazily sling her arms over his shoulders. "It's a secret I came up with for you. Of course it's good."

"You came up with a secret just for me?" he asked, sliding his arms around her waist. "Really?"

[vanillajello]

"Well, for us," she amended, smiling at him as one of her hands found the back of his neck and just barely ruffled the hair there. "The thing itself is for us, though the secret is for you."

[therewaslife]

"I think you're really enjoying teasing me like this," he said, laughing and leaning into her hand. "You're just playing with my curiosity now."

[vanillajello]

"It's fun," Kate replied, as if that was an excellent reason all on its own. Her fingers slid into his hair. "And you like it. Don't you dare tell me you don't."

"I," he corrected, almost sighing at how nice that felt, "like you. That's what I like."

"Details," she scoffed, joking. "Would you like some more hints, or should I just refrain?"

[therewaslife]

"I don't mind either way," he murmured, sighing again. "If you'd like to give me hints, I'll listen. If you don't, I'll just...imagine hammocks."

"Hammocks," Kate agreed as her fingers played with strands of his hair. "And a place I want to have better memories of."

[therewaslife]

Bod was kind of sad to think there could be several places like that for her. Still, he wasn't going to let on about that. He just sighed again.

"So, is this place...not here on the island?" Bod asked after a moment of enjoyment.

[vanillajello]

"Not on this island," Kate replied, wording it that way on purpose. She leaned in a bit, to rub her nose up against his. "Elsewhere. Somewhere pretty and nice."

[therewaslife]

"There are a lot of places like that," Bod murmured, smiling at her. "Perhaps give me another hint?"

"Well..." She paused to consider the next hint, lips hovering close enough to his for him to feel her breath. "It's somewhere we've been, but we weren't together."

[therewaslife]

"Not together as in we didn't see each other or not together as in...not together?" Bod asked quietly, trying to lean forward to catch her lips in a kiss.

[vanillajello]

"Not together," Kate whispered, accepting the kiss, maybe even a little greedily. Blame it on the memories, something pent up and vaguely possessive. "I saw you."
