October 1st, 2011. Kate's 18th birthday.

Again.

Also, November 1st, 2011. Bod's 18th birthday.

Interdimensional time differences were a pain in the ass, but occasionally they produced fun coincidences like a once-in-a-lifetime joint birthday, and that was why Bod had been invited over to Kansas today.

There'd been much cheer earlier from the Gregsons and their assorted posse, and there'd more family partying later, probably (in her honor, not his). But for now, the outsiders had cleared off to do other stuff, mostly to give Kate and Bod some time alone, and so alone they were, in the kitchen of Charmaine's house, with a birthday cake that was missing whatever pieces her family had already eaten. And Kate was currently adding '+ Bod' at the end of the original 'Happy Birthday Kate' in icing. "Look, I'm making you a birthday cake!"

"They don't matter," Kate replied. Still touching him. "I'm the only one who heard, and I didn't benefit."

"I think the fact that you laughed was a benefit," Bod stuttered, trying to lift his hips more into her hand now. "That's a definite benefit."

"Yeah but I could've laughed at anything."

And when she tried to push his hips up, she responded by drawing her hand back out of his pants. With an evil, evil smirk.

Bod pouted at her and his hips dropped sadly back down to the mattress. He wasn't going to complain though because he knew this had been coming. He was just going to pout slightly.

"Don't pout at me," Kate chided him lightly, her fingers curling around the waistband of his pants. "It'll put me off."

[therewaslife]

"It will not," Bod said, shaking his head. "It'll make you even more smug than you are because you know you're getting to me."

Kate tugged on his pants, starting to pull them down his hips. "No, it's rude," she claimed. "Rude and off-putting."

No, he was right.

"Since when have you been concerned about rudeness?" Bod asked considering she liked to describe herself as not very ladylike sometimes.

"Since right now." Yeah. "Just had a change of heart."

[therewaslife]

"I think you're lying," Bod decided, shaking his head. "You're lying so you can be right."

[vanillajello]

"Well, you're tied to the bed," Kate retorted, scooting backwards as she worked the pants down his legs. "I can do what I want."

[therewaslife]

"There are some limits as to what you can do," Bod noted, lifting his hips to try and aid her with that process. "You can't leave, for instance. I won't be happy if you do that."

"I'm not intending to leave," Kate assured with a snicker. His pants ended up on the floor. "I would miss the squirming."

[therewaslife]

"And no...no ice or anything like that," Bod said, pulling lightly against the handcuffs. "I'm not quite ready for that kind of simulation in conjunction with this one."

"Relax," Kate replied, running her hands lightly up his legs as she reached for his boxers next. "I'm not planning to try anything new and extreme. And if we ever bring ice into play, you can try that on me first."

"All right," he said, sighing and lifting his hips again to help her. "I apologize, I don't mean to be neurotic. I'm going to relax now, I promise. Do your worst."

Once the boxers were off too, she crawled up just so she could kiss him and murmur, "Love you and your neuroses. I will do my worst, don't worry."

"I'm not worrying," he said and leaned up to return her kiss. "I trust you and I'm anticipating what you might do."

Kate nipped at his lip, then kissed her way down to his neck. "Good."

"Can I keep talking to you until I can't anymore?" Bod murmured quietly. "It won't distract you, right?"

Kate chuckled against his neck, and licked his skin before answering. "Talk as much or as little as you want."

[therewaslife]

"I could start listing counties just to get a head start on your possible evilness," Bod sighed, exhaling quietly. That felt good.

"Mm, you could," Kate murmured. She bit his neck lightly, then licked over the same spot before moving a little further down. "I would not stop you."

Except by trying to make his voice falter, obviously.

"I might wait to do that," he said because he was just enjoying what she was doing to him now. It just felt so soft and good and sharp and then good again. He liked it. "Maybe in a bit."

"Suit yourself." She was busy trailing the tip of her tongue along his collarbone, then down the middle of his chest, only to suddenly move more to the side to lightly nip at one of his nipples, right before licking over it, soothing.
