Far, far away from any and all dungeon drama, two people were about to celebrate having managed to stay together for two whole years. (Well, two years plus the one half they'd managed the first time around.) Naturally, it warranted portaling out of Kansas for a trip. Kate had planned this one, and since Kate loved to pick places with significance sometimes, she'd picked Romania, since it was where one of Bod's childhood pseudo-parents had come from. And because it was in Europe and the internet had made it seem like there was enough to see in Bucharest on a trip lasting a few days.

Assuming they'd actually come out of their superior double room at the Marshal Garden Hotel. Which they'd just walked into for the first time.

"... Oh my God, I love it."

There were bright colors and big flower motifs on the carpet. Of course she loved it.

"Well that's true," Kate admitted, with a snicker. "But, even that attention should be going towards me! I'm very important to myself."

"And you're making little sense right now as well!" Bod said with a laugh. "But, I'm used to that."

"Hey, I am making perfect sense!"

Debatable.

"Don't be mean."

"I'm not being mean," Bod replied with a shake of his head, " and you know I'm not. I was being honest."

"Pah." That was an excellent argument, don't claim otherwise. She kissed his nose again. "Honesty."

"Pah?" Bod snickered at that and shook his head. "You truly have a way with words, dear. Truly, you do."

"I have a way with everything, dear," she corrected, and nuzzled his cheek. As... punishment. Right. "But especially you."

"That is true as well," Bod said, sighing quietly. "You do have quite the way with me. A way like no one else does."

"I've had a lot of practice." Sure, she also had a natural way with people, but then he wasn't really just people, was he? "And I'm going to make this the best anniversary ever. Until the next one, anyway. Just so you know."

"I think we'll both have a hand in making this the best anniversary ever," he told her quietly, smiling. "As the saying goes, it takes two to tango."

"And are you going to tango with me?"

Of course she had to go for that question. Of course.

"If you mean the actual tango? No, because I don't know how," Bod told her. "But if, in this situation, tango means something else then...probably."

"I think it could mean both," Kate decided. "For a loose definition of actual tangoing, because I don't know how, either. But I can always slow dance with you."

"Well, I can slow dance with you too," Bod said, nodding. "That I can do. If we don't actually tango, I'd be happy to dance with you."

"I should've made tango lessons part of my plans," Kate teased. "I'm sure we could've found someone with a thick, barely understandable accent to teach us."

"And then, when you got impatient with him or with not learning it immediately, it would have been interesting to watch you shout at him and then just make up your own dance," Bod teased.

Kate laughed. "You have such little faith in me." Or he just knew her. "Excuse you, I would be great at tango. I used to do ballet, I can dance!"

"All right, I can concede that point," Bod said with a nod. "You did use to dance but you haven't danced in awhile and I think the instructor would have to be very flexible to teach you."

"Isn't it enough that I'm flexible?"

And just like that, with a smirk, she'd made it dirty.

"And just like that, our conversation has switched topics," Bod chuckled. "That is the true extent of your talent, Kate."

"Well, I got bored," Kate told him, not seriously. Tapping a fingertip against his chin. "But I do want to dance with you. I might even see about dragging you somewhere out to do it."

"I'm sure Romania has some places where we could dance," Bod said, leaning his head down and kissing her finger. "And even if it doesn't, we can just dance here in our room."

"Definitely always an option," Kate agreed, tapping that finger against his lips now. "Brought my laptop, there's music on there. We can make it happen."

"We'll make it happen," he promised, nodding at her. "Along with many other things to make this anniversary memorable and amazing."

"Excellent." She looked happy, smiling at him. She did that a lot, actually. "So... If I disregard my urge to take your clothes off right now, do you wanna come take a tour of the rest of the hotel with me? Because I'm pretty sure it'll be as neat as this room."
