Weeping Angel A4, Friday After Classes

Kate was fighting a losing battle.

Namely, one of trying to stuff all her surprise luggage under her bed. There were just too many. They would never fit. But she just had to try. Not like she wanted them just laying around, when they had labels like Too much responsibility, Pushed around by skeevy guys and Heart bruised by Southern idiot.

And of course, that one fucking luggage set with the label Crazy mother issues.

Eventually though, she just gave up, letting a few of the bags that wouldn't fit just stay in sight. She was just going to flop down on the bed and be thankful that at least she'd been able to push that one black leather bag (which for some reason looked like an old-fashioned doctor's bag, and which had the words That one awful Saturday labelled on it) as far back under the bed as it would go.

Fucking Fandom.

"All right," he promised quietly, leaning up to return that kiss because he kind of needed it right then and there. He kind of needed her and to not feel like a monster and to know who he was.

He pulled back, took in some air and said, "I do care about you. I do. I want you to know that even if you already do. You should hear it again." And he kissed her again because it felt right.

Kate thought it felt right, too, so she let the kiss linger. She also shifted a bit, in an effort to get closer, while getting her arms tighter around his shoulders again.

Maybe she needed him too. And this, and hearing him say he cared about her.

Maybe one day she'd even admit it.

Bod got one of his hands loose only so he could use it to move a little further back on her bed so she could get closer and they wouldn't be perched precariously on the edge there.

He managed to do that without losing the contact though and felt proud of himself for it. He was going to try and get the kiss to linger as long as he could.

At least he had Kate's full cooperation in that particular effort. That had to help. She didn't particularly want to let go of him in any way, right now. In fact, she really just wanted to be wrapped around him, and against him, and kissing him.

Which she pretty much was.

And Bod really did like where she was. He liked being that close to her and feeling that she wanted to be close to him as well. He didn't know what made him do it but one of his hands came from around her waist and he flattened his palm against where he'd drawn that heart earlier, where her heart actually was.

He just kept his hand there, pressed down lightly while he leaned up to kiss her.

There was... something, about him doing that, something that made Kate feel warm. Something that made her kiss him a little harder, a little more intense.

That one ever-elusive feeling was floating somewhere on the edges of her mind again.

Bod could feel the change in her quickly and he responded in kind, meeting her intensity with some of his own, pouring a little bit of his own neediness, something he didn't show too often, into it.

He kept his hand against her heart, fingers pressing down a little more firmly. It wasn't her actual heart, he knew that, but he could keep this one warm, keep it shielded from the outside world for a bit.

And she would let him. Wasn't that exactly what she wanted? Needed. Did. Something like that.

She'd just keep kissing him, and stroking his neck, and conveying some of the things she never said through both of those actions. Hoping she did, anyway.

Bod twisted around just a bit, moving until he could lie back against her pillows and she could get a little more wrapped around if she wanted. He'd pulled away just a touch while doing so even if his hand stayed where it was.

For some reason, he just...didn't want to take it away from her heart.

Kate, wrap herself around him more? But of course. Settling against him, she did that familiar thing where she got her legs all tangled up with his. Something weirdly comforting about knowing neither of them could get up too fast.

And she smiled down at him a bit. No real reason. Just felt like it.

"Better," Bod told her in something near a whisper and returned that smile. At this point, he'd almost forgotten the baggage and the issues and everything. It just didn't seem to matter right now.

They had their moments of ease. Like this one. And somehow that seemed to make all the trouble worthwhile.

Sometimes, at least.

"Good to know," Kate said, leaning down for a light kiss.

Right before she'd kissed him, he managed to say, "Venustas," before closing his eyes and returning that light kiss with one of his own.

"You're distracting me," she told him, between a few quicker kisses, "with your Latin."

[therewaslife]

"Distracting you from what?" Bod asked, smiling and reaching for another Latin word just to distract her further. "Incunditas."

"From... stuff." Yeah, she had no idea, and she was chuckling a little. "I don't know."

[therewaslife]

He just smiled up at her and said, "Mei proprius puella."

It was her fault for saying he was distracting her. Of course he was going to continue on since he liked Latin quite a lot.

Kate shook her head. "You are so weird." And she liked him that way. Even when she couldn't quite tell what he was saying.

"Thank you," Bod said, smiling and even blushing just a touch. "You do say such sweet things, Kate."

Kate snickered and ducked down to kiss his cheek. "Well at least you can tell what I'm saying."

[therewaslife]

"Would you like to know what I said?" Bod wondered. "I'll gladly tell you."

[vanillajello]

"Yes," she nodded. "Enlighten me."

[therewaslife]

"Venustas is loveliness. Iucunditas is pleasure. And Mei proprius puella is special girl. And now you know what I was saying as well."

All right, so he left a word out of the last statement. He didn't need her to panic.

Of course, even Kate's rusty and basic understanding of Latin told her there was an untranslated word there, and with all the other words he'd provided her, she could even tell what it was.

She didn't panic, though. Things in a foreign language were easier to stop from doing that. Instead, she just gave him a pleased sort of smirk. "I do. How convenient."

"It seemed important that you know," he said and gave a little shrug. "So, now you do. Good."
