Room 324, Late Thursday Morning

Yeah, so, last night had been fun. If you were a masochist and thought messed up weather coupled with a stupid fire drill was fun, which Kate didn't. Bod had had to half carry her up to her room and help her out of her wet clothes before she'd fallen in bed and dozed off into deep sleep pretty damn fast.

And deep sleep was where she'd stayed until just now. She wasn't even sure why she was already waking up now, but she was. And maybe it wasn't so bad: she needed a shower, and breakfast, and she'd planned to actually get her ass down to the salle today, and there was other crap that she was supposed to do as well. Waking up would have actually been a good idea.

... Kate just shifted a bit and clung to Bod some more. Five more minutes. Just five more minutes.

"Well, I'm already sleeping with you again," Kate pointed out, somewhat amused. "Both dirtily and not. And I would feel a little stab-happy if anyone else made a move on you. So yeah. I think I would like you to be my boyfriend again."

"Then, I will be your boyfriend again," Bod decided, nodding. "And you can be my girlfriend again. And we can keep sleeping together in both fashions and no one has to get stabbed."

Kate grinned, but tried to temper her excitement to a certain kind of lazy smugness. "Mm, I like that." And wasn't that just the perfect excuse to plaster herself more against his side again? "Hullo, boyfriend."

"Hullo, girlfriend," he said, wrapping his arm around her and smiling. "It's good to be here with you once again. I missed it."

"Rest assured my room and bed missed you too," Kate teased with a little smile. "Especially my bed. It's been pretty bored with just little old me."

And an occasional Nathan, but details.

And poor Kate obviously didn't know that little Dorian had let Bod in on that Nathan detail but he didn't say anything. He just laughed and patted her bed.

"Well, I've come back so hopefully you and your bed can rest a little easier now," he replied, laughing. "I'm happy to be here."

"And I'm happy you're here too." Understatement. She was ridiculously thrilled. "And how convenient that Bobby's away right now, hmm?"

"Very convenient," Bod agreed with a lazy smile. "Are you suggesting you want to take advantage of that fact? I thought you had things to do."

"I do," she replied, nodding solemnly. "But, I have all day to do them, too. There's always room for something else on my schedule."

Bod laughed and rolled onto his back, smiling. "I'm curious as to what you're putting on your schedule all the sudden. It must be something important."

"You," Kate replied with a smirk, moving to prop her head up on one arm. "I think that's plenty important."

"Thank you," he replied, smiling again. "I think you're plenty important too. And if laying here in my...naked glory is what you want, I can do that."

"Must be a tough gig," Kate teased. She reached over and drew yet another heart on his chest. "You might also wanna join me in the shower, at some point."

When she drew that heart on his chest, Bod let himself remember when just doing that was difficult for her. Now, she just did it so easily. He smiled.

"I would love to join you in the shower at some point," said Bod, nodding. "And while I don't have any spare clothes to change into, I'm sure my other ones are fairly dry by now. Though, my shirt's a bit...destroyed."

Well, there was mud and grass stains considering he'd let her stand on it.

"Well, I have a couple of those huge Four Winds t-shirts," Kate offered, absently writing her name (middle name included) on his skin as she talked. "I can lend you one of those if you don't wanna do your walk of shame shirtless. Or, I guess I could also go by your room and get you some clothes."

"Either options is perfectly fine with me," Bod said, looking down at the finger moving across his skin. "If you'd like to go to my room and see if you remember where things are, I can give you the key. If not, I can wear one of your big shirts."

"On second thought, I don't know if I wanna risk running into Jacob," Kate replied honestly. Done with writing her name, she spelled out the word 'pale'. "You can just advertise my Dad's landscaping business."

"I would be happy to advertise for your father should anyone on the island need any landscaping help," Bod said with a laugh. "Anything to help. I'm perfectly willing to do that."

Kate snickered, splaying her fingers against his chest. "Okay," she said. "But not yet."

"I wasn't planning on putting anything on just yet," Bod promised, covering her hand with his own. "It's good to have a plan for when I have to though. And now we do."

"We're awesome with plans," Kate decided, nodding with a pleased smile. She wriggled her fingers under his hand, just because she could. "I like your skin."

"Do you?" he asked, snickering quietly. "Why? It's so pale and bland."

"It's pale and beautiful," she corrected. "It's you. It's yours."

[therewaslife]

"Beautiful?" he asked, adding some red splotches to his pale skin now that he'd blushed a bit. "That word's coming to you easier now."

"Well, I've had to say way harder things to you," Kate pointed out lightly. "This simple truth's just a cakewalk in comparison."
