Room 324, Sunday Afternoon

After some time spent in the crazy pony-filled common room, Kate retreated back into her own quarters to hang out. Apart from putting her ring on, she hadn't gotten any further dressed than she had been for breakfast. The shorts and flannel shirt combo was comfortable, and considering there were ponies running around, people could just deal with her legs if they happened to wander on by.

Wasn't like the ponies were wearing any clothes. She was trying not to think about that.

And she was pretty successful in that endeavor. After all, most of her focus was going into looking at stuff on her laptop. Namely, trying to find out what people were paying for barely used Vespas, and looking at holiday destinations where you might find a place to hang a hammock.

No reason, really.

"I don't know yet," she replied, sighing and tipping her head forwards a bit, more than happy to let him rub her neck. "Maybe."

"You're intentionally teasing me," he said and kept rubbing her neck. "What sort of secret are you keeping from me?"

"Something for the future," she said, sighing again because his hands felt nice. "Probably not too distant future."

Bod groaned dramatically but it turned into a laugh. "That's unfair! Giving me hints is unfair."

"How is that unfair?" Kate asked, snickering. "I thought you wanted to know! Hints are better than not knowing anything at all, right?"

"Hints are tantalizing and torturous when it's about me," Bod laughed, shaking his head. "I'm more curious than ever now and my claims of not pushing are wobbling!"

"Well, maybe I'm trying to push you into pushing," Kate teased, picking her head back up. "Just to see what you'll do."

"That's not very nice," Bod chided, leaning down to kiss her cheek before...trying to reach past her and see her computer. It was a half hearted effort, one that he hoped she'd catch instead of anything meant to actually see what she was doing.

Kate swatted his hand away, laughing. "Hey hey hey, hands off my computer!"

"I wasn't going to do anything," he said, leaning against her and laughing. "I was just going to check the weather!"

"Oh sure," Kate laughed. "I'm totally gonna believe that. The weather. Yes."

[therewaslife]

"It's the truth," he said, still laughing. "And it's your own fault for not telling me your torturous secret. I'm just so curious."

"You contradicted yourself beautifully just now," Kate replied with a snicker. "Your desire to check the weather is my fault for hinting at my secrets? Although..." She smirked. "Checking the weather might be related to my secret too."

"Don't do that," he said and tried to playfully blow a raspberry against her neck. "You're not helping my curiosity!"

"That tickles," Kate complained, though it wasn't much of a real complaint. "I'm not trying to help your curiosity."

"I'll do anything you want if you tell me," Bod tried, blowing another raspberry against her neck. "Aaaaaaaanything."

"I don't know if there's anything I want," Kate claimed, squirming a bit in her seat, laughing. "Or aaaaaaanything."

"You're making this so hard on me," he said and kissed her neck again. "Tell me your secret? Please?"

"I don't think the magic word works here," Kate lamented, not at all sadly. "Not that kind of thing."

[therewaslife]

"I love you," he said and kissed her cheek again. "If it were me with the secret, I would tell you."

That...was debatable.

"I doubt that," Kate murmured, turning her head to kiss him. "Not without a lot of work from me."

[therewaslife]

"Mmm. Perhaps." Yes, he could admit that. He lingered into that kiss again, forgetting about that secret of hers for the moment. "But you know you would have eventually gotten it out of me."

"Eventually," she agreed. "But not just by asking."

And neither would he.

[therewaslife]

"I'm not sure what else I have to do," he admitted and laughed again. "It's not often I'm trying to wrangle secrets out of someone. What should I do?"

"Be relentless and persuasive and... stuff." Yeah, she didn't know. She reached for the edge of the desk to push herself up from the chair. "I don't know."
