Philosoraptor A1, Late Saturday Afternoon

Kate no longer had a depressing pink Vespa in storage on the mainland. Instead, she had a nice sum of money on her bank account and plans on how to spend it on things the girly scooter and all it stood for had put on hold for so many months. Things like the little box that was safe inside her bag right now, so tiny but yet so important. The Vespa seemed to have been like that, too. Only in a seriously skeevy and bad way. It felt freeing to have gotten rid of it.

She was online again, sprawling on her narrow bed as she searched for more things to include in her plans. It made for a nice weekend afternoon activity, and it was definitely better than what she'd been doing a week ago.

So much could change in a week. She should have learned that by now.

"And then I go stand next to Nathan," she said, around a bite of sandwich, like a lady. "And suddenly, not so tall."

"Well, I'd only have eyes for you," he said and blew her a kiss before wiping his greasy fingers on her shirt because he was feeling a little playful today.

Kate stopped and stared at him, and he was very lucky indeed that she looked amused.

"Really? You couldn't have eyes for me and, say, a napkin or two?"

"Why would I look at a napkin when I could look at you?" Bod wondered, laughing now and not even caring. "You're so much better than napkins."

"But you could wipe your fingers on a napkin." In case he didn't know that. "I'm not one, you know."

"I know," he said and blushed at that. "I was just being, I don't know. I was just being playful. I didn't mean to do anything that upset you."

Kate said nothing to that. She did, however, finish off her sandwich, only to idly reach over and wipe her hands on his shirt.

So there.

Bod just laughed at that and then offered her an onion ring. "Does that make us even? We're both napkins now?"

"Apparently so," she replied as she snagged the onion ring from him. "And I wouldn't want to deter you from being playful."

Bod chuckled and let her take the onion ring so he could finish the rest of them off. "And what have you been doing today, girlfriend of mine?"

"Ran some errands on the mainland," Kate replied, shrugging lightly. "Came back and explored the wonders of the internet. Not much else."

"Mmm." Bod leaned back on her bed, lying until he was flat on his back and his legs were hanging off the edge. "Anything interesting on the mainland?"

"Nothing you need to worry your pretty li'l head about," Kate told him as she peered into the bag and decided to save the soup for later. "Just... errand-y stuff."

"That's...an odd answer to the question," Bod replied, glancing up at her. "Why would I worry? I was just curious, honestly."

"It's just a saying," she snorted, and reached over to bop him on the nose, because she could and didn't really need a reason to. "I don't actually think your head is small, either."

"I should hope not," Bod said, laughing at her. "My head is rather large. You're just lucky my hair is situated the way it is so you're not exposed to my massive forehead."

"Oh my God, I swear that future weekend gave you a complex!" Kate snickered, finally putting the food bag aside. "Your forehead is fine."

"It's fine now," Bod clarified, shaking his head. "I am doomed to having a massive forehead when I'm older. It's a foregone conclusion!"

"Well, massive forehead or not, I thought you still looked hot," Kate pointed out. "I don't give a fuck about your forehead."

"That just makes you very strange," Bod decided with a laugh. "But, thank you."

"Hey, I'm dating a dude who used to be able to Dreamwalk and Fade and God knows what else," Kate returned, laughing. "I think it's common knowledge I'm a bit strange."

"I haven't been able to do any of that for awhile now," Bod said, shaking his head. "The strangeness has perhaps worn off."

"No, you have enough permanent strange about you," Kate decided, moving to crawl over him since he looked all comfy and stuff. "It won't wear off."

Bod laughed again and smiled up at her, forgetting about the conversation for the moment. "Hullo there. Am I a jungle gym this afternoon?"

"No," she told him, mock seriously, nodding down at him. "You're my boyfriend."
