Room 324, Friday After Classes

By now, things had pretty much gone back to normal. Bobby was back, Kate had got her sleeping pattern straightened out, she'd given away the rest of her muffins before they started being the main part of her diet, and she had a date tonight. Actually, things weren’t just normal; they were even pretty good.

Kate was listening to music as she finished putting on make-up. Extra care went into covering up the mark on her forehead. She couldn’t remember if she’d ever been as aware of her bangs as she had this week. Damn accident.

But that wasn’t going to put a damper on her mood. She had a cute outfit on, and she was going to have fun.

Jason was going on a date. He still wasn't quite sure what to make of it but hey, he just might get lucky tonight. His mood was damn good.

Wearing a bit of a cocky smirk paired with faded jeans and fitted t-shirt, he raised a fisted hand and rasped his knuckles on her door.

Kate turned off the stereo when she heard the knock, then came over to open the door. She was wearing a short skirt with knee-high socks and a cute top, and knew she looked fabulous, thank you very much.

"Hey, you found me," she smirked.

"Yeah," he grinned. "Imagine that." Taking in her appearance, he whistled low, and added: "Damn you look fine."

"Thanks." Her grin? Totally of a charming sort of smugness. "You don't look too bad yourself."

"Ah, I jest throw on whatever," he said real casual-like. He knew he looked good. He always looked good. "Who do ya share a room with?"

"Bobby Drake," she replied, leaning on the doorframe. "You know him?"

"Yeah, I know," Jason replied, chuckling. "Gotta stash of porn for him. I ain't seen him yet since I been back, but I'll make a point of bringin' it over."

Kate laughed, then gave him a disapproving look. Not because of the porn, but... "You do realize how much flailing that's gonna cause, right? Because that's going to severely affect my living conditions."

Jason didn't get why. "Most guys hide it anyway. I bet ya won't ever see it, and it'll be good for him. Boy ain't never seen a naked pair of titties before." He hooked his thumbs through his belt loops and rocked back on his heels a bit. "I guarantee ya he ain't."

Yes. Jason thought he was being helpful.

And I know for a fact that he has, because he's seen mine, Kate could have remarked, but didn't.

Instead, she shook her head. "He's gonna flail, I know it. And when he does, I'll know whose fault that is," she said, raising one eyebrow. "Anyway, should we get going?"

His smile was smug. "I'm thinkin' I won't mind a bit takin' the blame. Jest doin' my part to help educate, is all." With a nod, he extended his hand towards her. "Ya wanna handwavily grab a burger before the show?" He had no idea what was playing but he was sure it didn't much matter.

She took his hand, stepping out of the room, and closed the door behind her. "Yeah. I'm kinda hungry, actually."

Should've kept some of those muffins.

"Good," he said, wrapping his fingers around her hand. "I like a girl with a healthy appetite." With a grin and a wink, he turned to head out with her.
