Today, at least in the multiversal timezone Fandom was in, was Valentine's Day. And not only that, it had also been ten months to the day since a boy from England and a girl from Kansas had woken up together and decided they really rather wanted to go back to being boyfriend and girlfriend. Their first attempt at that had only lasted six months and change, so ten months was kind of a huge deal. So they were celebrating.

In Kansas.

Hey, at least it was in Topeka and not KCMO! Kate had never been, and it was actually turning out to be pretty okay. Or maybe that was the company. They had the hot tub suite booked for later at Senate Luxury Suites, but right now they were still at Gage Park, in the Reinisch Rose Garden. It was fall in Kansas, as evidenced by the leather jacket Kate had on over her dress, but since the garden over six thousand bushes of more than four hundred varieties of roses, some of them were still in bloom, and it was pretty enough for her.

She was all smiles, carrying her bag in one hand and holding one of Bod's with the other as they strolled along. "This pretty gorgeous for Kansas, don't you think?"

"They'll just have to make due with me for their fill of Owenses," Bod said, smiling. "I hope I'm enough."

"You are more than enough," Kate assured him with a little smile. "Even if things are a little off-balance with all the Gregsons and Craines and Kowalskis that come your way. You are totally enough."

"As long as I have my favorite Gregson," he said, kissing her temple and sighing, "I'll be all right with absolutely anything."

"What if I changed my name, you wouldn't be all right anymore?" she wondered, teasing. "Not that I'm gonna, I'm just saying."

"You'd be my favorite no matter what your name might be," Bod amended with a little laugh.

"Good," Kate nodded, so clearly pleased with that. "That's how it's supposed to be. And I don't care what name you use, either. You're still my Muffin."

"And you're still my Cuddle Bunny," Bod said, sighing and staying close to her. "I love you, Kate. Love you so much."

"Love you too," Kate replied, and couldn't help marveling at how easy that had become to say. "Loved you after I had to dig pebbles out of your feet, and loved you when we did it at H&M, and still do."

"And my feet have since recovered and we've...done it many other places since then," he said, letting a blush come out at that. "Thank you for loving me."

"No problem," she chuckled. "Literally. No problem. You are easy to love."

"Flattery will get you anything you want," he murmured, smiling. "Anything."

Kate gave him her cutest possible smile.

"But I already have you."

Bod's grin widened and he reached around to embrace her again. "I meant anything from me but that's an excellent answer on its own too."

"Thank you, I do try," Kate murmured. "I don't need anything specific from you. It's cliché but it's enough that you're here."

"When we first started dating again," Bod started to ask, still keeping her close to him, "did you think we'd see ten months?"

He had. He thought they'd see 1000 months but he was an optimistic sort.

"I wanted us to?" Kate offered, almost wryly apologetic, pushing hair away from her eyes. "But you know, I was, uh, pretty insecure at that point. About whether I was gonna... fuck something up again."

It was a pleasant surprise that she hadn't.

"Do you think that might happen still?" Bod asked curiously. He didn't sound upset or anything resembling it.

"Less and less," she admitted. "I'm just... I don't really have eyes for anyone else, and the chances of me fucking up in any other way are pretty slim. Though I'm sure I could find a way."

"Don't think about it like that," Bod decided, shaking his head and kissing her cheek. "You're not going to mess anything up and we're going to be fine and long lasting and incredible."

Kate quirked a little smile at him again. "Well, we've done it in other universes, at least."

"See?" He smiled and nodded at her. "So, it's not out of the realm of possibilities. I know it's hard for you but start thinking optimistically about us."

"I am," she snorted. "Come on, I just told you I've been getting more optimistic over time. More secure."

"And I'm just encouraging that!" Bod insisted with a laugh. "I promise."

"Good," Kate replied, with a nod. She glanced around. "Hey, there's supposed to be an old school carousel somewhere in this park. You wanna go find it?"

"Carousel?" Bod asked, looking around. "Absolutely, I'd love to go find it. I haven't been on one in quite a long while."
