Jelly Bean B2, Friday Morning
Someone was spooning Kate and nuzzling her neck as she woke up. It was a really nice thing to wake up to. Cozy and comfortable. And obviously there was only one person it could be. So, sleepily, and fully expecting to see a pale face and some floppy hair and grey eyes and probably a cute smile, Kate turned her head and opened her eyes, and--
Well. The guy was pale, yes. Really pale, actually. His skin was almost white, not the kind of peachy pink that passed for white skin in general terms. And his hair was floppy, but it was also a little too long. And black. His eyes were kind of black, too. And his clothes.
He was most definitely not Bod. Kate pushed herself up on her elbows, eyes wide. "What the fuck?"
"Good morning, Kate," the guy replied calmly, with a gently amused smile.
"Who are you? And why the fuck are you in my bed?"
The guy kept smiling. Actually, there was something calming about him. Comforting. Familiar. "I usually go where you go," he said. "Except when you think you don't need me - which is totally fine, by the way - and you end up giving me to Bod to prove a point. Take my hand. You look like you need it."
Without even thinking about it, Kate took the guy's hand. It felt right.
And at the same time she understood what he was telling her. Her free hand came up to the top of her chest, reaching for something that wasn't there. And the guy just gave him something that was almost a smirk.
Still holding the necklace's hand, Kate fell back with a frustrated grunt and burrowed her face into the pillow. "Fucking Fandom."

[Pfft, like I wasn't gonna ping in especially now that I can play at home? AS IF. :D]

"Oh God that's Bod. Get up get up get up," she hissed at the necklace, who obediently scrambled to sit on the edge of her narrow bed. As he did that, she pushed herself up to a sitting position again, still half under her blankets and wearing her pajamas.
Once she had deemed that they looked about as respectable as they could under the circumstances, she called out, "Yeah, I'm here."
Of course, they were still holding hands. She couldn't help it, it was a stressful situation!
[I PREDICTED THIS.]

"I'm sorry, you've company already. I didn't mean to interrupt," he said, wincing. "I can come back, if you'd like?"
no subject
"No, it's okay, come in," Kate and her nervous smile said.
The necklace lifted his free hand in the semblance of a wave. "Hello, Bod."
no subject
Bod couldn't stay blind for too long and he finally spotted the hand holding. "Oh. I think I did interrupt something."

The last words were of course meant for the necklace, who was still holding on to her hand. After her outburst he let go but raised his eyebrows at her. "You're freaking out. I thought you needed me."
"Well I don't. God." Kate shook her head, then looked at Bod. "This isn't what it looks like."

"If you'd like to tell me, maybe that will help? I feel like I'm missing something."
no subject
Kate gave the necklace a look. "You're not helping. Bod, he's... He's my necklace. Apparently. I remember Fandom pulling a stunt like this about a year ago, too."
no subject
There was nothing there. Bod blinked and glanced at the...necklace. "I'm sorry about the bedside drawer but I think Kate would have gotten angry if I'd worn you."
He was apologizing to a human manifestation of her necklace. Weird.

Kate was just going to shake her head. "For a piece of jewelry, you're really talky."
"Sorry. I'm not used to having a mouth."
no subject
"When did this happen?" asked Bod. "Just recently, I'm guessing?"
[And I am about to head home BUT I WILL BE BACK!]

She raised an eyebrow at the necklace, in case he'd know the specifics.
"At dawn, or something like that," he supplied. "I'm not sure how long it'll last."

Kate merely said, "Hmph." Which wasn't exactly a word, but she wasn't sure whether she should comment on what the necklace had actually been doing.

If the necklace was unconvinced (which, okay, he was) he didn't show it.

Kate glanced at the backpack in question. It was on the floor, next to her school bag. "... Probably not."

The necklace watched them impassively. Didn't bother him much.

He shrugged. "Probably."
She shrugged too. "So, yeah, picnic, maybe."
