Room 324, Sunday Afternoon

After some time spent in the crazy pony-filled common room, Kate retreated back into her own quarters to hang out. Apart from putting her ring on, she hadn't gotten any further dressed than she had been for breakfast. The shorts and flannel shirt combo was comfortable, and considering there were ponies running around, people could just deal with her legs if they happened to wander on by.

Wasn't like the ponies were wearing any clothes. She was trying not to think about that.

And she was pretty successful in that endeavor. After all, most of her focus was going into looking at stuff on her laptop. Namely, trying to find out what people were paying for barely used Vespas, and looking at holiday destinations where you might find a place to hang a hammock.

No reason, really.

"Honestly, I'm not sure how one would go about getting a secret out of someone," he admitted quietly. "Most of the time, I'm of the mind that people should get to keep their secrets."

"Even ones that are about you?" she asked, tilting her head back to peer up at him. Upside down. "You have so much more restraint than I do."

"If there's a secret about me, I'll hope I'll some day know but I won't pressure anyone," he said and dipped down to kiss her while she was upside down. "If they don't, I'll go on as normal."

"Patient boy," Kate murmured, distracted. "That was fun. Do that again."

She meant the kiss.

"Do what again?" Bod asked even if he knew. He lowered himself down and kissed her again, lingering this time.

The mild strain to her neck aside, Kate found it really really nice that he chose to linger. It was probably that kind of a day for her. She even hummed a bit in appreciation.

Bod pulled away and smiled at her from the unconventional but close position. "Hullo there. How are you today?"

"I'm good," Kate replied, quietly. Still smiling back at him, yes. "Glad to not be a pony or a unicorn or anything like that."

"As am I," Bod said, letting a lot of his affection for her show through in how he brushed his fingers down her cheeks and towards her neck. "I don't handle not being myself very well."

"I know," she sighed. "Who could forget how your inability to be a girl translated into sulking in the bathroom like a total chick?"

She said it with wryness and love, because that particular day hadn't been easy for her either.

"Well, I'd just gotten used to being me," he explained and kissed her again, laughing as he did. "It was hard to be someone else even if yes, I know, I wasn't really someone else mentally."

"Mm." Idly, she tried nipping at his lip, as awkward as it was from this angle. "You know, I find it so weird how people differ like that. I mean, I have way more of a problem with actually being someone else, but the body thing is borderline fine for me."

"Perhaps one day it'll be fine for me as well," he said and laughed. "Is your heading starting to throb yet?"

"My neck is kinda unhappy," she admitted with a chuckle. "I might wanna get up from this chair, actually."

"Are you done with what you were working on?" Bod asked, leaning away from her so she could pick her head back up. "I didn't want to interrupt."

"It's nothing urgent," Kate said as she straightened up in the chair again and rolled her shoulders a few times. "Seeecret stuff."

[therewaslife]

"And you're not going to tell me?" he asked, reaching down to rub the back of her neck to loosen it up as well.

[vanillajello]

"I don't know yet," she replied, sighing and tipping her head forwards a bit, more than happy to let him rub her neck. "Maybe."

"You're intentionally teasing me," he said and kept rubbing her neck. "What sort of secret are you keeping from me?"

[vanillajello]

"Something for the future," she said, sighing again because his hands felt nice. "Probably not too distant future."

[therewaslife]

Bod groaned dramatically but it turned into a laugh. "That's unfair! Giving me hints is unfair."

"How is that unfair?" Kate asked, snickering. "I thought you wanted to know! Hints are better than not knowing anything at all, right?"

"Hints are tantalizing and torturous when it's about me," Bod laughed, shaking his head. "I'm more curious than ever now and my claims of not pushing are wobbling!"

"Well, maybe I'm trying to push you into pushing," Kate teased, picking her head back up. "Just to see what you'll do."

[therewaslife]

"That's not very nice," Bod chided, leaning down to kiss her cheek before...trying to reach past her and see her computer. It was a half hearted effort, one that he hoped she'd catch instead of anything meant to actually see what she was doing.
