Far, far away from any and all dungeon drama, two people were about to celebrate having managed to stay together for two whole years. (Well, two years plus the one half they'd managed the first time around.) Naturally, it warranted portaling out of Kansas for a trip. Kate had planned this one, and since Kate loved to pick places with significance sometimes, she'd picked Romania, since it was where one of Bod's childhood pseudo-parents had come from. And because it was in Europe and the internet had made it seem like there was enough to see in Bucharest on a trip lasting a few days.

Assuming they'd actually come out of their superior double room at the Marshal Garden Hotel. Which they'd just walked into for the first time.

"... Oh my God, I love it."

There were bright colors and big flower motifs on the carpet. Of course she loved it.

"No, I'm not," she mumbled back. Pulling away was not a thing done easily. "Also, you're repulsive to me."

"Then, why are you on top of me?" he had to ask. "Convenience?"

Kate couldn't hold back a laugh. Not that she'd even really tried to. "Yeah," she chuckled. "It's purely for convenience."

"And whatever will you do if I'm not around?" Bod asked, wide eyed. "Who will you be convenient with?"

"Dunno, I'll find someone," she teased, looking down at him. "I'm sure there are other convenient guys out there."

"But, they won't be me," he pointed out. "And you're used to me. Shouldn't convenience be easy? You'd have to adjust to another guy."

"It wouldn't be so bad," Kate lied, pulling away and more upright to settle her hips more squarely on his. "I mean, it's boredom versus a brief adjustment period, right?"

"And then when you get bored with him and miss me?" Bod questioned.

Kate looked exaggeratedly confused.

"I don't understand the question."

[therewaslife]

"And you're expecting to get my clothes off this anniversary?" Bod asked, shaking his head and tsking. "I doubt that happens."

"Oh, well, your body bores me." Totally. That was why she was sitting on him. "It's not a huge loss."

Bod shook his head and wiped a fake year from his eye. "That's just...so sad. I guess I'll just sit here and sleep, then."

"Maybe," Kate replied, nodding very seriously as she put her hands against his shoulders. "I'm sorry the tryth had to all come to light on our anniversary."

"It is a saddening thing," Bod agreed with a nod and a sigh. "But, I'm fairly flexible. I can deal with this sudden revelation and move on."

"Mmm hmmm." She smirked at him just a little bit, rubbing his shoulders. "You are fairly flexible, this is true."

"You sure do seem to enjoy sitting on someone you're bored with," Bod remarked with a light smile. "Are you sure I'm the one you're bored with?"

"Not a hundred percent." Not one percent. Not at all. She brought one hand up to his neck, dragging her fingertips against the skin there. "No."

"I didn't think so," he sighed, tilting his head back and exposing more of his neck. "I didn't think so at all."

That just meant she had to bring her other hand up too. More fingertips to draw light shapes against his skin.

"I'm so surprised."

[therewaslife]

"You weren't very convincing," he told her with a chuckle. "It was easy to see through your obvious lie."

[vanillajello]

"Well I wasn't trying to be very convincing."

She ducked her head again to replace one set of fingers with her mouth, and light kisses.

"But, you were quite loyal to your mission for awhile," Bod pointed out, sighing at that touch. "You stuck with your argument for a nice long bit. I was almost convinced."

No, he hadn't been.

"Riiight," she drawled, against his neck because she was nice like that. Also, she licked one of the spots she'd just kissed. "And you're not just saying that."

"Do I ever just say anything?" Bod wondered, reaching to slide his fingers up and down her back.

Kate sighed. It was a good sigh. "Not really," she admitted, with a few renewed kisses. "You usually have a reason."
