Weeping Angel A4, Friday After Classes

Kate was fighting a losing battle.

Namely, one of trying to stuff all her surprise luggage under her bed. There were just too many. They would never fit. But she just had to try. Not like she wanted them just laying around, when they had labels like Too much responsibility, Pushed around by skeevy guys and Heart bruised by Southern idiot.

And of course, that one fucking luggage set with the label Crazy mother issues.

Eventually though, she just gave up, letting a few of the bags that wouldn't fit just stay in sight. She was just going to flop down on the bed and be thankful that at least she'd been able to push that one black leather bag (which for some reason looked like an old-fashioned doctor's bag, and which had the words That one awful Saturday labelled on it) as far back under the bed as it would go.

Fucking Fandom.

"I am not," Bod argued, shaking his head head. "Perhaps your next bag will prove me right. It'll be labeled with something about losing arguments and I'll be proven right and be the actual winner."

"The actual winner of what?"

[therewaslife]

"The...day," Bod said, pulling that from out of nowhere. "I win the day."

"The day. You win the day?"

Kate was trying not to snicker.

... Oh wait, no she wasn't.

"And pray tell, what does winning the day entail?"

[therewaslife]

"Pride. Glory." Bod, obviously or not, hadn't actually planned any of this out, of course. So, assigning rewards to something he'd won was more difficult than it seemed. "Adoration. Admiration."

Kate thought it was fairly obvious he was pretty much pulling it out of his ass, yeah.

"And where do you expect to get all that from?"

[therewaslife]

"I don't know, I haven't thought of that yet," he said, tapping his chin with his free hand and looking around. "Perhaps I'll get a bag or two with something special in it."

He'd probably get a bag or two with something special on it but it wouldn't be good.

"Aside from that, I was going to figure that out as the day progressed. I'm certain I can find my rewards somewhere."

"You haven't actually been proven the winner of anything," she pointed out. "Also, good luck trying to get any rewarding special bags today."

[therewaslife]

"I don't think you'd let me prove myself a winner," Bod replied, shaking his head. "So, I don't think I'm going to prove myself a winner. I'm just going to be the winner. It'll work better in the long term."

[vanillajello]

"Well, whatever, my awesome outranks your winner...y." 'Winnery' is not a word, Kate. "So it doesn't matter."

Sometimes her logic was a little special.

"I do not agree," Bod said, shaking his head. "There's no proof of that either."

"You're still arguing with me." Pause. "Stop it."

Of course, she completely failed at looking like this bothered her at all.

"This is not arguing but I'm not going to stop either," he decided, smirking at her. "There's no reason to stop so I don't think I'm going to stop."

"It is arguing," she assured him, nodding. "If I say it's arguing, and you insist it's not, then that's like, the very definition of arguing."

[therewaslife]

"I disagree with your definition of arguing and don't think you can proclaim something arguing without my agreement."

Wait, what? Bod had to actually take a minute to parse that as it'd sounded more logical in his head.

"I think you're just upset that I won the day."

[vanillajello]

... Yeah, Kate was just going to attack the easier of those statements.

"You did not win the day."

[therewaslife]

"Yes, I did," he insisted easily, pulling their joined hands a little closer to him so he could kiss one of her fingers. "I'm sorry, I did."

"Did not," she repeated. Maturely. "And no amount of hand-kissing is gonna make me change my mind."

[therewaslife]

"So, I shouldn't do it anymore?" he asked, peering over her hand and at her with the eyes she said she liked. "I should stop? I can stop. Of course."

"Thought you said you weren't going to stop."

It had been about stopping another thing, but that didn't matter. She could spin it around if she needed to.

"Also, you're trying to change the subject."

[therewaslife]

"I said I wasn't going to stop proclaiming that I won the day," he clarified, shaking his head and kissing another one of her fingers. "I think you need to keep your subjects straight."

He shrugged, kept grinning at her. "And I'm not trying to change anything. I merely asked a question about your preference. The subject is still at hand."

"Well, I didn't say anything about whether you should stop," she said. "I only said that it wasn't going to change my mind. So whether that means you should stop is entirely up to you."

[therewaslife]

"So, you have absolutely no preference?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "All right, I'll go ahead and stop."

He followed all the way through, settling their hands back on the bed and shrugging lazily.

"I didn't say anything about my preference."

But she had other preferences too. Like the one that had her moving now. Onto her knees on the bed first, then turning and climbing into his lap. Unless he resisted.

She didn't expect that to happen.

She wasn't going to find any resistance, no. There was some mild, pleasant surprise out of the sudden movement but he was smiling by the time she settled.

"Hullo," he said, laughing quietly. "Better?"
