Outside MST3000 & Onwards, Wednesday Evening

Another fairly uneventful day at the movie theater had come to an end. The most Kate had really done was talk to her boyfriend and then jot down some plans for a party, but she thought that was plenty. At the end of the day, she said goodbye to her coworkers and locked everything up before slipping out through the back door.

She was smiling to herself as she circled her way to the front of the building.

Not very good at all. "I'm so offended by your harsh words, Nobody," Kate deadpanned. "I thought you came to get me so you could tell me the one affectionate thing you owe me. So far, you're really failing."

The instant she reminded him of that, he immediately started blushing again. It was impossible to resist. "I...am still going to tell you that. I thought you'd want to eat first."

"Aww, your poor little face," Kate cooed. She couldn't help it, it would be a long while before that stopped entertaining her. "I do want to eat first. Anything that gets you to blush like that deserves my full attention."

And it wasn't like she had too many fries left.

"I just hope you're not setting yourself up for quite the letdown," Bod said, rubbing his cheek and laughing. "I always worry about that."

"I love every single affectionate thing you ever say," she replied sincerely, over a fry. "So don't worry about that."

"Thank you," he said, smiling and looking down at his feet. "You're biased but thank you. I like hearing things like that."

[vanillajello]

"Is there a way in which I could not be biased about that?" Kate wondered upon hearing those particular words again. "I think not."

"And I didn't try to veto it this time, did I?" Bod asked, leaning over and trying to kiss her cheek while they walked. "I'm making progress."

"Yes, and maybe the next step will be stopping to accuse me of that all the time," she replied, amused. "Since I really can't help it."

[therewaslife]

"Perhaps," he laughed, nodding. "It's something I can work on, at least, right? If it helps, I like your biases."

[vanillajello]

"So why have you been trying to make rules against them?" she asked. "That's backwards."

[therewaslife]

"I've been trying to make rules against them because it's fun to argue with you sometimes," he laughed, smirking. "I remember you liking that."

[vanillajello]

"I do, but I also like to start the arguments," she retorted. "I like to be in control of things, remember?"

[therewaslife]

"I know," he replied, smiling. "You'll be happy to know that I prefer when you start the arguments because I'm really not that good at them."

[vanillajello]

"No, you're not," she snorted, then finished off her fries and showed him the empty carton. "Look, no more fries."

[therewaslife]

"You were hungry," Bod said, taking the carton and finding a nearby rubbish bin to toss the trash safely into. "Was that enough for you?"

"I think it'll at least tide me over until we get back to the dorms," Kate replied with a smirk, reaching for his hand. "Maybe I'll want dessert there, though."

Bod took her hand in his and said, "I think there's some ice cream in one of the common room freezers, at least. Chocolate, even. I had some the other night."

"I have ice cream of my own," Kate replied, becaus of course she did. "I might still have one last container of wedding cake, too."

[therewaslife]

"That must have been a rather large cake," he said, swinging their hands back and forth. "After all those fries, I'm surprised you have room but then I realize I shouldn't be. Your metabolism is amazing."

[vanillajello]

"That's just logical," Kate replied smugly. "The rest of me is amazing too." If he'd expected any other reaction, he was being dumb. "Anyway, it was kind of a huge cake, and you have to remember no one actually got to eat it at the wedding."

[therewaslife]

"I know that but the amount of cake is still surprising to me," he said, shrugging. "I guess it's good to have should you not want your processed pudding cups."

[vanillajello]

"The cake was the only happy thing about the wedding, and Mom didn't want to stuff the fridge at home with it." She shrugged. "I think there's only a tiny slice left, anyway. And, I think we have more important things to discuss."

Lest he think she'd forgotten.

She was quite persistent about that, wasn't she? Bod chuckled and glanced over at her. "And what important things do we have to discuss?"

"Like why you've turned the color of a ripe tomato a few times on this fine day?"

Yes, she was persistent but when he'd looked like that, how was she supposed to resist?
