Room 324, Saturday Evening

Yes, Kate had gone a little overboard with her drinking last night. She had also spent a good portion of today being glad that Bobby had already taken off for the weekend and that Bod was working at the library, so that no one had been around to interfere with her intense desire to just die.

But at least the party had been a success. An by the time evening came, she was feeling a little more functional. Once the headache and nausea had abated, she'd finally called home, just to chat about inconsequential stuff with her mom. Just to hear her voice, and make promises of coming to visit soon. She'd even made up an entirely fictional problem with their dorm room shower just so she'd had a reason to ask her mom to put her dad on the phone.

And after that, without considering it long, she'd left a voicemail for Bod. She'd only been outside the room once the whole day, to get food once she'd felt like she could keep it in, and having seen there were... island things happening again, she'd pretty much decided to keep to her room, probably for the majority of the weekend.

And right now that translated to leafing through an old issue of Cosmopolitan, because this was not the day for anything even remotely intelligent.

"What couch?" Bod asked, glancing around. "Do you have a tiny, invisible couch that I'll have to sleep on?"

"There are couches in the common room," Kate pointed out. "You could use one of those. Or we could pretend Bobby's bed is a couch, although he might flail about that."

"What if the cause of the row was your fault?" Bod asked curiously. "Would you go sleep on the couch?"

"No, because this is my room," she pointed out, as if it was obvious. "And the chick always gets to stay in the bed, anyway."

"Why is that?" Bod asked and was actually serious about the question. He couldn't help it, things like this confused him.

"I don't know," Kate replied. "Chivalry? Or, maybe it's usually the woman that does the whole ordering thing, y'know, banishing the guy from the bed? Could have something to do with how women are way more likely to withhold sex to get what they want."

"I was just curious," he explained and leaned forward to kiss the top of Kate's knee. "I love your skin, Kate. It's so soft and lovely."

Kate watched him, amused. "You sure you're not still drunk?"

"Why would that make me still drunk?" Bod asked, brushing his lips back and forth against her knee. "I'm being an affectionate housemate."

"Just a housemate?" she questioned. "This seems a little inappropriate for a mere housemate." A beat. "Which does not mean I want you to stop. I just want to get that clear before you start getting smart."

"Well, we're playing house so I just thought I'd be considered a housemate," he said and rested his chin on her knee while he looked at her. "I love you, you know."

"I think I've been made aware of that fact once or twice before," Kate replied softly, looking at him. "I'm pretty sure."

"You don't mind hearing it a time or two more, do you?" Bod asked, smiling at her. "I like saying it."

"I definitely, definitely do not mind it," she assured him. "I love you too."

"Good," Bod said and smiled again. "Very good. Would you like to order something for dinner?"

"Mm, maybe pizza?" Kate suggested after a pause to ponder. "I could definitely go for some dinner. I haven't exactly been eating much today."

"I'll be glad to order a pizza if you'd like to tell me what you'd like on it," Bod said, crawling closer to her so he could kiss her lips this time. He was feeling affectionate tonight, he couldn't help it. He was in love with her.

Kate cupped his cheek with one of her hands, happy to return some of that affection. "Everything," she murmured. "Can I just want everything on the pizza?"

"You can," he said, leaning into her hand and smiling. "We'll get everything on the pizza and we'll be completely full tomorrow."

"Tomorrow's Sunday," she replied, brushing her fingertips against his temple. "So I'm totally fine with that."

"Is your mobile telephone close by?" Bod asked since he didn't really want to move when she was touching him like that. "Can I use it?"

She inclined her head towards the magazine that lay on the bed next to her. "Under that Cosmo, I think."

Like she'd bothered putting the phone away anywhere further after she'd made her calls.

Bod reached blindly for the phone and was able to find it by touch. He switched it on and was able to easily find the number for a pizza place in her telephone. The order was placed soon thereafter and then he was hanging up.

"Your dinner is ordered, Cuddle Bunny," Bod said, leaning down to catch her lips again. "It shouldn't take more than a half an hour."

Kate chuckled quietly, against his lips. Her hand hadn't left his cheek. "Oh, my English Muffin," she said. "You're so hot when you're ordering me dinner while gazing into my eyes."

"I knew food was the way to your heart," he said, letting some of his weight rest on top her while he kissed her again. "You're so beautiful when you're underneath me."

Now, really. Bod hadn't meant that as an innuendo but as soon as it came out of his mouth, he knew it was an innuendo, at least.
