Somewhere in Maryland, Friday Evening

So, Kate and Bod had decided to get the hell off the island and away from the constant rain of future Japan. They'd packed some stuff, rented a car, and off they'd gone.

They were... somewhere in Maryland, now. Kate wasn't exactly sure where, and didn't particularly care, though maybe she should have, since she was currently driving and all. Maybe they'd know where they were going once they saw it.

She glanced over at Bod. "Can you try and find something good on the radio?" She was still too much of an old lady driver to start fiddling with the car stereo while they were in motion.

"And you're making the most adorable face at me for it," Kate retorted. "That's not exactly discouraging me."

"That's because I'd like to see you," Bod said petulantly. "You don't want to show me?"

Snicker. "You know, you're almost starting to sound like an averga guy, there."

But at least she started to pull the top off, but sloowly.

"Is that a bad thing?" Bod asked, frowning. "Should I take back what I said?"

"No, I just find it amusing."

Not that she thought he'd even really hear that, since about two seconds later she was half naked, holding her top by the shells.

Bod sucked in a breath and didn't even try to keep his eyes on her face. He couldn't because she was just that lovely. She was beautiful.

"I like skinny dipping so far."

"Despite the fact that we're only somewhat gotten to the skinny part, without the dipping," Kate replied, unceremoniously reaching to push her bikini bottom down next. "Somehow I'm not surprised."

"We're moving slowly," Bod said, smiling up at her. "You're being very literal, aren't you?"

"It's fun." She got the bottom off swiftly, then balled her clothes up while stomping on the urge to get coy because she was naked on a beach. "What else is new?"

Bod just laughed and hooked his fingers into the waist of his trunks. "It's my turn now, isn't it?"

If she was close to being coy, Bod figured he'd be even more so considering how shy he was.

Kate nodded with a laugh. "That's generally how this works, yes."

[therewaslife]

"You were slow so I can be slow too," Bod said, sliding his trunks down his hips slowly. "It's only fair."

"You have every right in the world to be as slow as you want," Kate replied agreeably, smirking as she watched him. "I wouldn't want you to rush."

[therewaslife]

"I am going to end up with a full body blush, I can just feel it," he said but he did push his trunks all the way down before stepping out of it. He couldn't help looking around either to make sure they were alone.

"We're alone," Kate replied, gently amused, as she saw him check their surroundings. "Too bad, really. They could be jealous."

"Oh, I doubt they'd be jealous," he said but he blushed anyway, looking shy. "I'm not that...I'm not like you."

"Well, then they'd just be jealous of me," she replied, smirk turning into a smile in the face of his shyness. "Because no one can have me but you."

"Shall we go into the water?" Bod asked, reaching for Kate's hand again.

[vanillajello]

"Ooh, are we progressing to the actual dipping part now?" Kate teased as she took his hand and even stepped forward a bit. "Exciting."

[therewaslife]

"Unless you just wanted to stand here and get an all over tan?" Bod asked, tugging her backwards and more into the water.

[vanillajello]

Kate followed, splashing the water with her feet a little more than was strictly speaking necessary while she walked. "No, I'm good with being in the water. I'm definitely good with that."

"And I'll keep you warm should you get cold," he said, wading until he was up to his waist and could pull her closer to him. "You're so lovely."

"I know," she laughed, letting go of his hand only to slide her arms over his shoulders. "You keep telling me. Tell me again."

"You're so lovely," he said, smiling at her. It was a very, very nice sensation to feel her wet and naked against him in the water. "You're the loveliest thing I've ever seen."

"Are sure you haven't been walking with your eyes closed?" Kate teased while she leaned against him some more. "I'm sure that could happen."
