Hawi, Hawaii, Sunday Early Evening

One of the good things about living in Fandom was getting to use Portalocity. So, when an obnoxious dude happened to stumble upon incriminating videos of a dark part of your life you would have rather buried and never thought about again, and you ended up punching him in his stupid face, and then found yourself anxious to get off the island because it was making you feel pukey and bad... You could hit up Portalocity for a package deal on portals to a cottage in Hawaii.

Kate had portalled out ahead to set some stuff up in advance before Bod got there. Those things included mundane stuff like getting groceries, but also special things like a hammock fit for two between two trees in the yard. It was important to have one. Right now, it was.

And there were one or two other things as well. Since the portal was not too far from the cottage, Kate had just texted Bod the address and a picture of the building, and was waiting for him on the kitchen, wearing the dress she'd not gone to a party in not too much earlier. She was resting her elbows on the railing, and beside her there were an empty jar, and a quickly made sign that said 'KISSING BOOTH'. Because she was a dork.

A dork who really, really felt like she needed to be with her boyfriend right now.

Bod slipped his own hands around her waist and pulled her flush against him, front to front, mouth to mouth and trying to touch wherever he could. Her eagerness matched his and that meant he was quickly getting lost in this kiss, letting himself get dizzy and lightheaded and blind to everything else but her.

He sure wasn't alone on that. Kate was already pleasantly lost in the kiss. It had been a long, weird day, and she didn't want to be aware of anything but him, and she wanted that to go both ways.

The fingers of one hand slipped into his hair, while the other idly, lightly, scratched at the back of his neck. It had to be done. He'd agreed to wear her ring!

Bod wanted to melt right at that. He did moan against her lips and leaned into her more heavily. His neck was just that sensitive and having it scratched like that just made it more apparent.

He didn't falter in the kiss though and he considered that an accomplishment.

He was so easy. So easy. And he was lucky Kate knew how to take advantage of that. When he moaned, she made an amused little 'mmm' sound against his lips and pressed her nails a little more firmly against the skin at the back of his neck.

She liked it when he made noises.

That drew another moan from him and this time, he did falter a bit. His lips left hers momentarily but he stayed close to her, breathing a little raggedly. He blinked a few times to get some focus back and reached up to kiss her again, a little lighter this time.

Kate made another amused little sound at his reaction. "Too much?" she murmured teasingly, against his lips.

"Of course not," Bod said, resting his forehead against hers and exhaling slowly. "I've just a very sensitive neck and you know that."

"I do know that." She demonstrated that knowledge by slooowly dragging her nails up the back of his neck again. "I learned that early on."

"You did," he said shakily, suppressing a shiver. "I think -- I think we should have some champagne now before I end up writhing on the floor."

"You say that like there's something wrong with writhing on the floor," Kate snickered, though her touch got lighter. "We used to be fond of floors."

"Later," Bod said and smiled deviously at her. "Later, we can get reacquainted with the floor. How does that sound?"

"Well, I don't know about how it sounds, but that smile is amazing," Kate replied, and kissed said smile before smirking and pulling away. "Later. Okay."

"It's amazing?" he asked, reaching to grab their juice again. "Thank you. I'll try to use it more often."

"It's amazing," she nodded as she reached for the bottle of champagne. "And kind of really hot."

[therewaslife]

"Really?" Bod asked, surprised. "What was so good about it? I thought it was just a smile."

[vanillajello]

"Oh but it's not," Kate replied, shaking her head. "It's the kind of smile that promises good stuff later on. Stuff on floors and whatnot."

Bod laughed and even blushed a touch. "I promise to deliver on that good stuff. For now though, lead the back outside so we can relax lazily?"

Kate grabbed a couple of glasses from one of the cupboards as well, then started ushering him out the door. "Go on then," she said. "Relaxation awaits."

"I'm going, I'm going," he said, stepping back out into the sun and heading towards the hammock. "I may never want to leave that when I get into it. Just a fair warning."

"Oh, I'm sure I'll be able to entice you into leaving eventually," she teased, smirking. "But don't worry, I'm not in a hurry."

"I'm sure you will," Bod agreed because that was a foregone conclusion. He knew she'd be able to do that. For now, he was going to lightly slide himself into the hammock and get comfortable first since he figured she'd want to sprawl on top of him.

And he managed to do that while holding the juice.

He was amazing. Kate, meanwhile, watched him do that and then congratulated herself on having actually chosen plastic glasses, because she didn't have to worry about those so much. She just put those in first, before climbing in herself, bottle still in hand.

She winced a bit at when putting some of her weight on her right hand made it sting, just the slightest bit, but that was over quickly and soon enough she was settling down, half on him, half next to him.

When she put the glasses in the hammock, Bod picked them up and settled them on his chest and stomach so she could climb in without sliding against them. The wince he saw there made him frown momentarily before wiping it away.

"Comfortable?" he asked, smiling down at her. "Is this all right? Do I need to move around at all?"

"No, you're good," Kate replied, smiling up at him while discretely pressing the back of her poor hand against the chilled bottle. "Very comfy."

"All right," he returned, reaching down for the juice he'd tucked against his side so he could start to open it. He stopped though and glanced down at her, looking sheepish. "Should we do the champagne first?"
