Today, at least in the multiversal timezone Fandom was in, was Valentine's Day. And not only that, it had also been ten months to the day since a boy from England and a girl from Kansas had woken up together and decided they really rather wanted to go back to being boyfriend and girlfriend. Their first attempt at that had only lasted six months and change, so ten months was kind of a huge deal. So they were celebrating.

In Kansas.

Hey, at least it was in Topeka and not KCMO! Kate had never been, and it was actually turning out to be pretty okay. Or maybe that was the company. They had the hot tub suite booked for later at Senate Luxury Suites, but right now they were still at Gage Park, in the Reinisch Rose Garden. It was fall in Kansas, as evidenced by the leather jacket Kate had on over her dress, but since the garden over six thousand bushes of more than four hundred varieties of roses, some of them were still in bloom, and it was pretty enough for her.

She was all smiles, carrying her bag in one hand and holding one of Bod's with the other as they strolled along. "This pretty gorgeous for Kansas, don't you think?"

"And it's not even just the world, but the multiverse," Kate pointed out, smiling. "We can try."

That would be fun, too.

"And I do think trying would half the fun," Bod said, moving to press a kiss against her forehead. "We could try and fail and get stuck in a small town and find out it was the best thing to ever happen."

Kate closed her eyes and sighed. Totally basking. "I really just need you for it to be interesting."

And she didn't mean that in any kind of dirty way or anything. He had his own view on things, and it made her see them differently, too.

"Oh, you're so biased," Bod said, chuckling. "I don't know if I can make certain things interesting but I'd certainly try for you."

"Well, if you fail at the interesting," Kate decided with a laugh, "I'll just bitch at you until I feel entertained again."

"And what happens if that makes me feel bad?" Bod asked, laughing again.

"I make you feel good again," she replied, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "I'm pretty good at that, after all."

"And how would you do that?" Bod asked, sliding his arm back around her shoulders so they could start walking again. "Hmm?"

"I would find a way to make you laugh," Kate decided, glancing at the roses. "I'd use my words. I'd spin something into something amusing."

"That's a very confident and competent way to go about making me feel good," he said, nodding. "I doubt I'd be able to resist your charms then."

Kate snorted and gave his side another little nudge. "Like you can ever resist my charms as it is. You're so far from being immune to my charms it's not even funny."

"If I'm asleep, I believe I can resist," Bod stated, nodding. "It's hard to charm me when I'm fast asleep."

"Asleep doesn't count, dummy," Kate retorted, giving him a look. "A person can resist practically everything when they're asleep."

"See, and here I thought you'd say that even you could be push through the allure of sleep," Bod said, laughing. "I'm amazed that you didn't."

"Well, I was trying not to be crude," she replied with a snicker. "'Cause I could probably think of a few ways, but I was going for a more sophisticated version of charm."

"And here I was expecting crudeness because that seems to be your favorite thing to be at times," Bod said, smiling.

"Well, I already know blowjobs are charming enough to wake you up," Kate replied, because she couldn't hold it back forever. "So, yeah."

"...yes." Yes, he knew how she liked that method of wake up call. "You're very lucky I can contain myself since your aunt's house is small and I'm sure the walls are thin."

"You should be able to do whatever you want but it's good that I'm restrained?" Bod asked, snickering. "That doesn't make much sense."

"Well, I should be able to but I don't actually want to, anymore, you know?" Kate explained. "Wheels to consider, you see. Not her fault her parents scarred me for life."

"And if one of them were to one day walk in on us?" Bod wondered. "Would that be scarring them for life?"

"Of course not," she replied smugly, as you do. "It would make them weep at the face of our superior sex life."

"And it would make blush so hard that I'd never recover," Bod said, laughing.

Kate snickered. "Well, that'd be incentive to travel," she noted, "because you'd probably be too embarrassed to come back."
