Far, far away from any and all dungeon drama, two people were about to celebrate having managed to stay together for two whole years. (Well, two years plus the one half they'd managed the first time around.) Naturally, it warranted portaling out of Kansas for a trip. Kate had planned this one, and since Kate loved to pick places with significance sometimes, she'd picked Romania, since it was where one of Bod's childhood pseudo-parents had come from. And because it was in Europe and the internet had made it seem like there was enough to see in Bucharest on a trip lasting a few days.

Assuming they'd actually come out of their superior double room at the Marshal Garden Hotel. Which they'd just walked into for the first time.

"... Oh my God, I love it."

There were bright colors and big flower motifs on the carpet. Of course she loved it.

"Well, good thing I didn't plan that for our anniversary," he said with a soft sigh. "I would have had to change all my plans. I'm glad I went with something else."

He was kidding, of course. "But, I don't want to recreate that either."

"No, I think recreating the morning after is much more easy and pleasant," Kate murmured, once they got to the bed. "Because waking up without clothes is not that foreign a concept to us in our everyday life, either."

"We just got here," Bod snickered, shaking his head. "I've barely put my bag down."

Kate laughed. "I didn't mean recreate it right now!"

"We're heading for the bed!" Bod pointed out. "You can't blame me for thinking that, my dear."

"Oh but that's just narrowminded," Kate decided, loosening her hold on him and urging him to get on the bed. "So many things you can do in a bed."

"I don't doubt that," he said, settling down on the bed with a laugh. "But, I do know which bed activities you like the most."

"And which are those?" she asked. Climbing over him. She didn't even care if that was predictable.

"You know what," Bod said, amused that she was predictable even if he liked being in this position. "I'm not going to tell you when it's very, very obvious."

"Why not?" Kate asked, ducking down to kiss his forehead. "Hmm? For me? For our anniversary?"

"Because you know," he said with a quiet laugh. "You know what your favorite activity is. Me saying it would only be telling you what you already know."

"You're no fun." he was a ton of fun. She kissed the tip of his nose. "Two years of boredom."

"And yet, you're living with me," Bod pointed out. "Has my ability to bore you just lulled you into laziness?"

"Yes."

She snickered, and kissed his lips.

"Liar," he mumbled against her lips. "You're such a liar."

"No, I'm not," she mumbled back. Pulling away was not a thing done easily. "Also, you're repulsive to me."

"Then, why are you on top of me?" he had to ask. "Convenience?"

Kate couldn't hold back a laugh. Not that she'd even really tried to. "Yeah," she chuckled. "It's purely for convenience."

"And whatever will you do if I'm not around?" Bod asked, wide eyed. "Who will you be convenient with?"

"Dunno, I'll find someone," she teased, looking down at him. "I'm sure there are other convenient guys out there."

"But, they won't be me," he pointed out. "And you're used to me. Shouldn't convenience be easy? You'd have to adjust to another guy."

"It wouldn't be so bad," Kate lied, pulling away and more upright to settle her hips more squarely on his. "I mean, it's boredom versus a brief adjustment period, right?"

"And then when you get bored with him and miss me?" Bod questioned.

Kate looked exaggeratedly confused.

"I don't understand the question."

[therewaslife]

"And you're expecting to get my clothes off this anniversary?" Bod asked, shaking his head and tsking. "I doubt that happens."
