Weeping Angel A4, Friday After Classes

Kate was fighting a losing battle.

Namely, one of trying to stuff all her surprise luggage under her bed. There were just too many. They would never fit. But she just had to try. Not like she wanted them just laying around, when they had labels like Too much responsibility, Pushed around by skeevy guys and Heart bruised by Southern idiot.

And of course, that one fucking luggage set with the label Crazy mother issues.

Eventually though, she just gave up, letting a few of the bags that wouldn't fit just stay in sight. She was just going to flop down on the bed and be thankful that at least she'd been able to push that one black leather bag (which for some reason looked like an old-fashioned doctor's bag, and which had the words That one awful Saturday labelled on it) as far back under the bed as it would go.

Fucking Fandom.

She leaned in for a quick kiss on his cheek, then said, "So I've noticed. I mean, you argued with me before we really even knew each other."

"I think you can apply that same same label to yourself," Bod returned, laughing a bit. "You argued as well. And really, if you had gone off on one of your trips, I don't know if I'd argue so much as...silently wonder if it was helpful."

"No, I think you'd argue," Kate decided. "Eventually."

Probably because she'd make him.

"You think I would?" Bod asked, laughing a bit. "I think I could resist an argument if I really tried. I've some willpower."

"And I have a lot of power otherwise," she replied. "My powers of argument are especially attractive."

What a weird thing to almost look smug about.

"I don't even know what powers of argument would entail," Bod admitted, shaking his head. "Does it mean you'd try and provoke me?"

"I really don't think I'd have to try too hard," Kate said, shaking her head in turn. "Provoking comes really naturally to me."

[therewaslife]

"Perhaps but I'm very patient," Bod replied confidently. "Just because you set out to provoke me doesn't mean I'll be provoked. I didn't insult the other girl who said I had deer eyes and a generally stupid face."

"I think I should have a little more influence than some random chick," Kate returned, raising an eyebrow before smirking. "Besides, you're arguing with me right now."

[therewaslife]

"I don't consider this an argument." It was an argument though it was light hearted and easy. "I consider this a discussion and a defense of my abilities to not be provoked into arguing with you."

"Now that," she said, pointing at him with her free hand, "was definitely arguing. I'm sorry, but you just can't win."

[therewaslife]

"I'm sorry but I think you're wrong," he said, flicking her fingers with his and making a face at her. "It's not arguing, it's just conversation and you're just afraid to lose."

She was undeterred. "How can I lose if there isn't an argument to lose?"

"Note I didn't say you did lose, I said you're afraid to lose," he responded quickly. "You didn't win either so don't try to out logic me. There's no argument to win or lose so there's no winner or loser."

"Yeah but why would I be afraid to lose an imaginary argument?" she asked. "You're so totally just grasping at straws right now."

[therewaslife]

"I am not," Bod argued, shaking his head head. "Perhaps your next bag will prove me right. It'll be labeled with something about losing arguments and I'll be proven right and be the actual winner."

"The actual winner of what?"

[therewaslife]

"The...day," Bod said, pulling that from out of nowhere. "I win the day."

"The day. You win the day?"

Kate was trying not to snicker.

... Oh wait, no she wasn't.

"And pray tell, what does winning the day entail?"

[therewaslife]

"Pride. Glory." Bod, obviously or not, hadn't actually planned any of this out, of course. So, assigning rewards to something he'd won was more difficult than it seemed. "Adoration. Admiration."

Kate thought it was fairly obvious he was pretty much pulling it out of his ass, yeah.

"And where do you expect to get all that from?"

[therewaslife]

"I don't know, I haven't thought of that yet," he said, tapping his chin with his free hand and looking around. "Perhaps I'll get a bag or two with something special in it."

He'd probably get a bag or two with something special on it but it wouldn't be good.

"Aside from that, I was going to figure that out as the day progressed. I'm certain I can find my rewards somewhere."

"You haven't actually been proven the winner of anything," she pointed out. "Also, good luck trying to get any rewarding special bags today."

[therewaslife]

"I don't think you'd let me prove myself a winner," Bod replied, shaking his head. "So, I don't think I'm going to prove myself a winner. I'm just going to be the winner. It'll work better in the long term."

"Well, whatever, my awesome outranks your winner...y." 'Winnery' is not a word, Kate. "So it doesn't matter."

Sometimes her logic was a little special.
