Hawi, Hawaii, Sunday Early Evening

One of the good things about living in Fandom was getting to use Portalocity. So, when an obnoxious dude happened to stumble upon incriminating videos of a dark part of your life you would have rather buried and never thought about again, and you ended up punching him in his stupid face, and then found yourself anxious to get off the island because it was making you feel pukey and bad... You could hit up Portalocity for a package deal on portals to a cottage in Hawaii.

Kate had portalled out ahead to set some stuff up in advance before Bod got there. Those things included mundane stuff like getting groceries, but also special things like a hammock fit for two between two trees in the yard. It was important to have one. Right now, it was.

And there were one or two other things as well. Since the portal was not too far from the cottage, Kate had just texted Bod the address and a picture of the building, and was waiting for him on the kitchen, wearing the dress she'd not gone to a party in not too much earlier. She was resting her elbows on the railing, and beside her there were an empty jar, and a quickly made sign that said 'KISSING BOOTH'. Because she was a dork.

A dork who really, really felt like she needed to be with her boyfriend right now.

"That's excellent because I have no plans to stop either," he said, laughing. "Show me everything else. Show me everything."

"Everything? There's not a whole lot." Still, she got them moving towards the next door, the bedroom with the two separate beds. "I think this is the dumbass bedroom."

"The what bedroom?" Bod asked, smothering a laugh into her shoulder. "What makes you say that?"

"Well, look," she said, gesturing into the room once she'd opened the door. "Two beds? Dumbass bedroom. For a take two of Colorado, even if we've established that worked out more than fine in the end."

"And two beds can be pushed together," he pointed out, still laughing. "It's not a complete loss in terms of bedrooms. It's just not as good as the bedrooms with one bed."

"Definitely not as good," she replied, pulling him along towards the last bedroom. "Pushing beds together is too much work."

"And Hawaii isn't the place for work," he agreed, following along with her. "I'm already enjoying this trip to Hawaii so much more than the last one."

"Well, that was easy," Kate teased. She opened the door and gestured inside again. "See, another non-dumbass bedroom."

"Which means this bedroom might see some slumbering from us this week?" Bod guessed, moving inside and taking a look around. He was really enjoying what he saw. It was so cozy and quiet and tucked away.

"Most likely so," she replied, leaning against the doorframe. "There are several places all over that might."

[therewaslife]

"Oh?" Bod asked curiously. "And where else might we sleep together? I've seen three bedrooms and a living room. Are there other places?"

[vanillajello]

"Well..." She smirked at him. "Did you see what I put up in the yard?"

[therewaslife]

"I...didn't," he said, trying to find a window to peer out of it. "I think I was too caught up in trying to get a kiss from you."

"A noble cause," she snickered, reaching for his hand. "I think you can best see it from the porch."

[therewaslife]

Bod had an idea of what it might be. He had an idea but he didn't want to immediately guess it and take the surprise out of her getting to show him.

"Lead the way, Cuddle Bunny," he said, swinging their hands while they walked.

"As you wish, Muffin." She pulled him along to the porch, then pointed out the hammock to him. It was between two tress a little further away, but still visible enough, and she was a little gleeful at getting to show it to him, yes. "See?"

"It's a hammock!" Bod said, grinning at the hammock in question and then at her. "Finally! We're finally going to get to enjoy a hammock under the warm sun while a breeze blows!"

"I know!" Kate enthused, and even bounced a little. Just once. "I couldn't miss out on the chance."

[therewaslife]

"We should make our way over there as soon as we can," Bod said, nodding. "Perhaps we can change and get something to drink and go over there and relax under the sun?"

"That sounds like an excellent plan," Kate replied with a firm nod, because she was willing to agree to a great many nice things today. "There are even a few choices for drinks 'cause I maybe went a little overboard."

[therewaslife]

"Maybe?" Bod asked, laughing and backing slowly into the cottage so they could change and grab their drinks. "I think you definitely went overboard."

"You haven't even seen the kitchen yet!" Kate protested, laughing. "What, you think I went overboard all around?"

She had.

"I do because it's fun!" Bod replied with a laugh of his own. "If I would have been the trip organizer, I would have gone overboard as well! It's more fun that way!"

Kate laughed as she let go of his hand to over to the couch where she'd dumped her bag. "And maybe I wanted to make this trip ridoculously fun."

"It will be," Bod said, watching her as she walked. "It's going to be excellent and I'll probably get sunburned."
