Hawi, Hawaii, Sunday Early Evening

One of the good things about living in Fandom was getting to use Portalocity. So, when an obnoxious dude happened to stumble upon incriminating videos of a dark part of your life you would have rather buried and never thought about again, and you ended up punching him in his stupid face, and then found yourself anxious to get off the island because it was making you feel pukey and bad... You could hit up Portalocity for a package deal on portals to a cottage in Hawaii.

Kate had portalled out ahead to set some stuff up in advance before Bod got there. Those things included mundane stuff like getting groceries, but also special things like a hammock fit for two between two trees in the yard. It was important to have one. Right now, it was.

And there were one or two other things as well. Since the portal was not too far from the cottage, Kate had just texted Bod the address and a picture of the building, and was waiting for him on the kitchen, wearing the dress she'd not gone to a party in not too much earlier. She was resting her elbows on the railing, and beside her there were an empty jar, and a quickly made sign that said 'KISSING BOOTH'. Because she was a dork.

A dork who really, really felt like she needed to be with her boyfriend right now.

Bod looked thoughtful for a second and then knelt down so he could unzip his bag. From there, he came out with a bundled up t-shirt that he laid across the top of the jar.

"Will that be all right?" he asked, trying to keep a straight face until she saw what the shirt said.

Kate... forgot the question as soon as she read what the shirt said. She had no reason to try and keep a straight face, so she let the laughter come unbidden.

"Oh God."

"Will that get me a kiss?" he asked, joining in the laughter because he couldn't believe he'd actually purchased a shirt like that.

"I think people with a shirt like that get kisses for free," she replied, still snickering. "Dude, that's kind of awesome."

In a seriously geeky way.

"I thought you'd like it," Bod said, leaning up towards her for that kiss he wanted. "May I have a kiss now?"

"Yes," Kate replied, leaning down to meet him for that kiss. Still smiling like an idiot.

Bod smiled into that kiss, touching her lips to his softly and gently but meaningfully. He'd earned that kiss and he wanted to make it a good one. He hadn't ever kissed her in Hawaii.

No, he hadn't. Kate hadn't even realized that yet. She responded to the kiss in kind, though. Sweet but meaningful. She'd wanted to come here with him for a good reason, after all.

Bod guessed they'd be kissing each other plenty this week so they could make up for the lost time. They'd already gotten started and he hadn't even been here fifteen minutes. Bod thought that was a good start.

And he thought pulling away and rubbing his nose against hers briefly before leaning up to kiss her was an excellent idea too.

It was also kind of adorable, and Kate was chuckling quietly even as he went to kiss her again. She also reached a hand down to play with his hair a bit.

Seriously. He hadn't even gotten all the way up the steps yet.

Bod laughed against her lips which meant he had to stop kissing her but he didn't really move away from her. He just laughed again and rubbed his nose against hers playfully.

Kate smiled because she couldn't stop herself, and didn't want to. She ran her fingers through his hair and snagged a few quick kisses because she was full of affection that wanted to get out.

"Hullo there," Bod murmured, reaching up to brush his fingers across her cheek. "Would you like to show me around this wonderful cottage?"

"Hullo," she replied. "Yes, yes I would. It's a very nice cottage."

"Then, lead on," Bod said, stepping back to grab his bag and finally moving up the stairs. He tried to slip his hands into hers as he did.

There wasn't much trying necessary, not when Kate had already been reaching for his. She pulled him through the door, into the cottage proper.

"Living room," she said, as they entered said room. "Cozy, right?"

She thought so, at least. It wasn't as flashy as some of the places they'd been, but she liked that.

"Very cozy," he said, dropping his bag down near the door. "I could see spending nights in here reading while you watched a bad reality show on television and then tried to explain to me what was going on."

"Well good, because that's likely to happen," Kate replied, chuckling, as she tugged him along towards one of the doors. "Come, I wanna show you the bedroom I think we'll be sleeping in."

"You think?" he asked, coming up behind her and wrapping both arms around her waist. It was going to make walking slightly more difficult but he wanted to be close and he thought she'd like it.

It made her laugh some more, at least, surprised but delighted. "There are three," she pointed out, as she reached out to open the door to the blue one, with the kingsize bed. "Three bedrooms to choose from, that's why I said I think we'll be sleeping here."

"We could sleep in all of them," Bod said, kissing the spot behind her ear. "I forgot to tell you that you look lovely. This dress is gorgeous on you."

"You say that about all my dresses," Kate murmured, though it was rather obvious it wasn't an objection of any sort. "Thank you. I was hoping you'd like it."

"Well, you just happen to make everything look lovely," Bod told her, giving her a squeeze. "It's an inherent talent you have."

"You're biased 'cause you loooove me," Kate singsonged. "Or you love me because I make all clothes look fabulous."

[therewaslife]

"I loooove you," Bod singsonged into her ear and laughed. "Yes, I definitely love you."
