Hawi, Hawaii, Thursday Morning

While Fandom sunk deeper into madness, strange things were afoot on another island too. Kate had snuck out of bed a bit earlier than necessary, and headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

... It was strange if you knew her.

She had the radio on at low volume, and was dancing around a bit in her well-worn Hola Gato pajamas as she made pancakes to be served with syrup. There was already some crispy bacon waiting on the counter, and an assortment of fruit. And Donkey Balls, because there was nothing like making your boyfriend blush over suggestively named confectionaries at breakfast. Especially after you'd already tormented him with them at the store the day before.

Kate was evil. But she was also making breakfast, so she supposed that evened itself out.

Bod pulled some orange juice out of the refrigerator and poured himself a glass. He was more awake than asleep now which meant his sleepy adorableness would have to give way to regular adorableness.

"Can I help in anyway?" Bod asked, tilting his head at her. "Or should I just stay out of the way and let you do your thing?"

"I think the latter is the best option," she admitted with a little laugh. "I mean, I only have a few more pancakes to go. You can totally help by deciding where we're actually gonna have this breakfast, though."

"Outside," he said immediately. See, that had been a very easy choice. "There's plenty of space out on the porch and I don't see any rain anywhere nearby. So, outside?"

"Outside it is," Kate nodded, smiling a bit at how quickly he'd come to a decision. "If you just give me a mo' we can go there."

"Of course," he said, finishing up his orange juice and washing his glass. "I'll go put on a t-shirt and meet you out there?"

Kate very, very briefly pouted at him for the t-shirt thing oh so sadly, but didn't say anything about it, just nodded. "That works fine."

Bod paused when he caught that pout and frowned. "What's the matter? You just pouted at me."

Yes, of course he didn't realize why she might have pouted.

"No I didn't." She didn't bother making that sound the least bit convincing. "You're imagining things, boyfriend."

[therewaslife]

"Yes, you did and no I'm not," he said, chuckling. "Why did you pout at me? Was it something I said?"

"Yes." She snickered as she went to flip the pancakes over again. "Now you figure it out."

"That's not fair," Bod said, wandering over closer to her now. "I might not ever figure it out. You know me."

"I just told you it was something you said," Kate pointed out, giving him an amused look. "Honestly, if you can't ever figure it out, I might have to ditch you just because I don't think I can be with someone who can't remember a handful of things he's said in the last... ten minutes or so."

"Hmph," Bod said, flicking her nose with a finger before heading out of the kitchen to do what he had to do before breakfast was ready. That meant wandering back into the bedroom to at wash his face and put on a pair of trousers on over his boxers.

Kate... was probably going to pout at him for that, too. But for now, she just laughed after him, and went back to getting breakfast ready and finding a tray to carry it out to the porch on.

Well, Bod had no idea if someone would get lost and stumble upon their little cottage so he liked to be prepared. He bypassed the shirt though after realizing what her pout might have been about.

He headed towards the porch as well after a few short minutes and sighed as the sun hit his bare skin and the wood warmed underneath his bare feet.

Kate showed up a few moments later, tray loaded with pancakes, syrup, bacon, fruit, chocolate and coffee. Mm, breakfast.

And yes, she did pout a bit at his trousers. That was just her way.

"I had to put on pants," Bod said, laughing at her. "You've shorts on!"

"So did you!" she exclaimed, suppressing a snicker at being caught. "Boxers are a kind of shorts!"

"Boxers are my underwear though!" Bod said, shaking his head. "Those shorts are your pajamas!"

"So what?" Kate asked, only about half faking her not-following. Please, she hung out at home in her underwear, and barely batted an eye at wandering outside like that, either. "Who are you expecting to show up?"

"A lost traveler, perhaps?" Bod put forth, ignoring how unlikely that was to happen.

Kate wasn't going to let him ignore it, though. "That's not gonna happen." She put the tray down on the table. "Come on, I could basically sunbathe topless in this yard without a fear."

"Do you want me to take off my pants?" Bod asked, sounding very amused. "Is that what you're telling me I should do?"

"Yes," Kate decided without missing a beat. "Take off your pants or I'm gonna make you make your own breakfast."

"That's just unfair," Bod said, sound mock offended before taking his pants off and tossing them back inside the cottage. "Am I able to partake in your breakfast now?"
